Reviews
Excellent condition but very slow
This course is in pristine condition. The greens and fairways are outstanding. They’ve done a great job keeping it looking good even with all the rain we’ve had lately. The only issue is the pace of play. 4.5 hours to play 18. This needs attention.
Poor greens
Green are showing a great deal of play with too many ball marks. Apparently no one that plays this course will fix there ball mark on the green. Very hard to putt with all the ball marks.
Played a fast front nine and when we made the turn a twosome had jumped in front of us. 3 hours later after only getting 7 holes played on the back 9 we gave up. Decent course and friendly people. Regulars do not fix their divots so the grens are choppy
Perfect condition
My friend and I finished 18 holes in 2.5 hours. No one was in front of us. The course was in perfect conditions except one of the bunkers that my ball fell in. Kudos to the staff who maintained the course.
try and play at least once a month on the hot deals as it is an hour drive. course in good shape rough little higher than it should be, spent some time helping the two fellows I was paired with search for balls, some just hopped out of fairway no more than foot or two and you had to be right on top of them to see them. greens fast and for most part in good shape, same old problem, folks don't fix their ball marks, but you can't blame the course for lazy people. pace little slow but it was mainly because the rough was so tall, folks spent extra time looking for balls.
course in great shape, only complaint would be that most folks are not repariing ball marks, but this is not the fault of the golf course. they had some type of tournement day or two before we played and hole setup was hard, greens fast, but for most part smooth and true. well worth the hour drive to play, got paired with two other golf now players and had a very good time.
Could be much better.....
I have not played this course for over 15 years and decided to stop by and give it a shot. I have played in several states this year and when it comes to course conditions, Riverside was below average at best. Tee boxes had not been cut in several days and the grass condition should have been much better and shorter. The fairways had lots of bad spots and spotty grass. Greens were in good shape but the bunker sand was thin and hard. Bladed 2 bunker shots due to lack of sand depth. It was almost like hitting off concrete. This course is a challenging layout. Several long holes have doglegs that require you to hit an iron from the tee. One is a par 5, #17. Would not recommend unless its your local course.
Another day at Riverside.
Another enjoyable round at one of my favorite courses. In excellent condition considering time of the year. Hope to get at least one more round in there before Christmas.
