The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Great late day play
Short course even from the blues but fun course management style course. Fun easy open play. Great for mid- beginners
Decent Course
Beautiful club house. Well maintained greens. Front 9 fairways are on top of each other, hard to tell where to hit. Decent price.
Good for the money
Tees fairways and greens are in great condition. The bunkers need some work. The need to get a cart girl out there honestly just a lost opportunity for the course to make some money
Greens and fairways in great shape, stay out of the rough as it is thick! Needs bunker help though

SLOW Golf!
The course layout is not too bad and the greens are serviceable.
You will see a lot of reviews about the slow pace of play. One star does not accurately reflect how slow this course actually plays. It took me about 3 hours to get to the 10th hole and there were two groups waiting to tee off. I didn’t have 6 hours to play a round so I just drove around the course to find an open tee box. I played the 13th hole 3 times in a row.
If you are in no hurry and are prepared to spend 6 hours to get your round in … I’d say go for it. Just try and keep the balls in the fairway. They don’t keep up the rough and there is alot of swamp. Bring extra balls.
Good course, horrible pace of play
They jam tee times together and I’m pretty convinced at this point that people jump on the course at the turn. 5+hours minimum every time we play here
