Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

bad day to play
light rain &windy raw weather decided not to play a lot of standing water in front of 18th green
Nice course
Very nice course tucked away not to far off of I94.. lots of leaves on the course, but other than that, friendly staff, nice course, i will be playing it again. IN THE SUMMER! Lol
Spend money
Spend some time and effort on the greens the courses in good shape but the greens are absolutely horrible
Great value
My girlfriend and I are beginner golfers. This is our favorite course. Just the right amount of difficulty with the sand traps and water hazards. We aren't good enough to pay 80 bucks a round so for us this course is perfect. Everyone in the clubhouse is very nice and always asks if we need anything to eat and or drink.
Fix brown patches
The fairways are in good condition but the greens need a lot of work to many dried Brown spots in of course the sand traps are in very poor condition put a price you really can't complain

Alots of puddles of water smells bad , greens need of TLC .
Excellent Value
It has been a few years since I last played this course. The layout is solid. Most t4eens are well protected with bunkers. It would have been nice to know that the greens and tee boxes had been recently aerated, but it was a fun round regardless. There were some burned out spots on the greens and they were rather shaggy,but maybe the aeration had something to do with it. The clubhouse staff, bar, and on course cart girl were very friendly and attentive. The patio was nice for a post round drink. Overall, not a bad course for an awesome price!
Great layout
If the greens were in better shape, this course would be a 4 to 5 rating.The latest spell of rain really helped the course recover from the lack of rain earlier this summer. Fun course to play. The staff is always friendly and the bar has very reasonable prices.
Expected more
Has a lot of potential. Just ran down dried up and not well maintained.
