Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

Mediocre
It's not an exciting layout. Lots of straight holes w/o elevation.
Glacial
Walking only which would have been fine but for some reason after 6 slow holes, just when it seemed like things might open up, we got to a par 3 and there were 4 groups waiting. 3 hour 9 was too much for me.
Great Natural Golf Course
I had never payed this golf course but let me say for the buck its one very good course especially the greens are in excellent condition shot 41 n 47 walking will go back I live in IL but its a must repeat.
This course has great features
The course was in good condition . Different rules do to covid 19 but it was worth it . The course lay out was great to walk . Can’t wait to play this course again .
Maplecrest
Very nice course for the money. I went out early and there was hardly anyone there. Got stuck behind a couple of slow groups but they let me thru. Lots of trees, but also lots of very good scoring holes. Every hole was maintained very well. Very picturesque. Overall a great morning of golf, and would absolutely play again. Highly recommended.
Can Be Fun
At such a price as I paid I have little to complain about, although at 1pm you would hope to have freedom from mowing noise every other hole, and singles constantly playing through...those are my only complaints...a good little course with testy holes and smallish greens. Good condition for $$. Play it when it is quiet, but not so sure when that is?
Under rated
Great course, variety of hole layouts, well kept, and friendly service, definitely the best bang for your buck course
Nice course
3pm tee time and felt like we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Staff was super friendly and it was just such a great deal at under $17 with cart. Will definitely be going back. If I lived a little closer, it’d be more often, but I’m just getting back into the game and Maplecrest is a perfect course for me right now.
