Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

Charged a fee for carts, but didn't allow us to use carts
Although we paid for the cart fee, they were not allowing carts and didn't provide a refund. They just told us that Golf Now would handle it if we called them. I've tried calling Golf Now and the automated message just tells me to use the "chat feature" online which is impossible to find.

The staff was very friendly from start to finish. Course was a bit dry, tees were hard, greens wouldn't stick so it made the approach very difficult. Beautiful day, great layout and the beverage cart was constant!
Good value
Course was fine, not too crowded. Greens were a little slick but overall a great value. Will be back.
Sand traps in terrible shape.. grass in fairways not cut..
Greens good
Course has many low points and takes on a lot of water. Bunkers in dire need of love and mowing seemed behind in fairways...that said greens were healthy and the course is an enjoyable walk !
Not going back for a while
Unfortunately they didn’t allow carts and due to the extremely slow play we called it quits after nine holes even though we paid for eighteen. First time for me to have to make that call. Also, there wasn’t a beverage cart on a very humid day.
Golf carts
Next time I book a tee time for 18 & cart notify me via email or phone number giving me a heads up! Don't appreciate paying for 18 and a cart with no refund when I show up to play.
Stay away
This course is complete garbage starting with the staff that doesn’t know how to manage reservations and then became angry because he was so frustrated. The course was in pathetic shape and running 30-40 minutes behind. This is the only review I’ve ever written because they deserve it. I wouldn’t come back to this dump if it was free.
Nice layout, doesn’t hold water
Almost unplayable today, no cart, tough walk when wet.
Maple crest
Maple crest: Golf course is in very good condition, little wet due to conditions. Greens are well-maintained and fast. Staff is very friendly.
Very wet. And does not drain great on places. Other then that a nice place to have a round.
Nice Layout
Love this course from tee to green it was in very good shape will play again. Thanks to Maplecrest for the great experiance.
