Not a great experience
Our experience may or may not be typical as this visit was our first (and last) to the course. We arrived at the course 1/2 hour before our tee time so we decided to get in some putting practice before heading to the first tee. About 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time, we made our way to the tee box and found 2 groups of 4 getting ready to tee off. Since there was no starter, we politely inquired as to what tee times the two groups had.
We discovered the course double booked our tee time. There was some discussion amongst the groups as to whether or not they should let the twosome (us) off first but some members of the first foursome balked. We informed the club house of the situation but they did not offer any remodies or seem overly concerned at the mixup. We ended up waiting for both groups to play before we were able to tee off. During the round, we were not invited to play thru any hole even though we were a much faster group of longer hitters and only a twosome. It took us over 5+ hours to complete 18. I blame both the players for poor etiquette and the course for double booking. We will not return in the future and would not recommend the course to anyone but the most novice players.
Solo round at Paganica
Got out mid day on a Monday. Good amount of people but pace of play was good. 2 groups let me pass as I was playing alone. Friendly people out there. Greens are a little small. Only negative that comes to mind. Great rate too!
Not the longest course but still challenging
This course was very fun to play. You do not need to be a long hitter to score well here, although the first two par 3's are around 200 yds each. Target golf with thick rough and smooth greens, you cant beat it for the price.
Old Course in Great Condition
Greens and fairways in very good shape. Play moved along well on a perfect day. A few wet spots. Club house not so great. Have some new carts, but you have to sign a release and give your drivers license to use one?
So much fun
It was a holiday so of course there were golfers out not knowing how to golf. Would have been nice to have someone out there to keep up pace of play. But for a holiday - what do you expect? Will definitely be back.
Goofy pin placements
Can't beat $15 for 18holes with riding cart. Fairway reminds me of a bad road with lots of pot holes. Very hard on the cart and bag just driving on the fairway. The pin placement for the entire course that day were practically on the fringe which is very bizarre. Otherwise, can't beat the price but probably won't be coming back. Avoid this course for those with bad back and riding a cart.
Bumpy
Riding a cart is a challenge with the fairways so uneven. My bag actually flew off the cart on the 10th hole.
Fall Golfing
The rate could not have been better. 18 with a cart $15 plus fees on Golfnow.com. Not even a moments wait on a single hole. Great day at the course!
lost with flying colors
Had a 119 and Lady I golfed with had a 83. Good thing it was for fun. I had trouble on the par 3's. My drives average around 165. Not bad for 71 year old hacker.
Easy Enjoyable Course
This course is perfect for mid hadicap golfers. Relatively open and few hazards. Greens are small and have medium-to-slow pace, and the fairways are a little longer than normal.
Slow play from inconsiderate golfers
My fiancée went to play with her niece and were enjoying a nice round of golf, but slow playing from some men and not letting them play through because they thought they were better golfers led to them not being able to finish all 18 holes....
Slow Pace of Play
Was looking to do a quick 18 before heading to work but the round took over 4 hours for a single! Take it I went on a Thursday morning during a 9 hole Mens league, which I understand they will play slow but there were 3 groups already backed up on hole 3!!! The starter could have at least allowed me to start on the back 9 while they finished their league play. Thought I would have had plenty of time to do 18 holes but I didn't even get to finish! Will be very wary when I decide to go back. Other than the slow pace, the course is well groomed, and the greens were well maintained.
Beautiful Fun Course
Course was very pretty. I had a really enjoyable time. The course was challenging, but not too hard. Everything was perfect--the only thing was the carts were a little outdated, but it was very nice, and I will definitely play it again.
Very good public course
Greens and fairways great shape challenging par 4s.
not a 50$ course
It took 5 hrs to play no ranger no course management
Smooth greens
smoth greens a little slow for my liking but I did like the longer par threes Very good price golf now price
Great Value
Weather was light drizzle at times. Was teamed up with another single. Greens are a little small.
Great value from Golfnow. Had a nice time despite weather.
average course
Average course for the money. Fairways were as long as rough and the rough was even taller. Greens were not clean and soggy. Fun course to play though
Swithcback winds prevalent
Great value throw-back ambiance. Greens roll true year round. Must play a few times to navigate hazards. Many risk-reward holes. Winds tend to be either with or against shortening some of the par 5's. Beware, postage stamp greens throughout, must hone chipping. Original Storms driving range directly across the street. Great sports bar on Silver Lake en-rout. Course has cheap lunch items and good pub. Surprisingly challenging track, if you are out of position. Fairways really bumpy, but adds to the character and adventure. Similar scale to Rolling Hills without the pomp. Perfect amount of sand in bunkers.
