Nice Value
The course was in better shape than some high priced courses. It isn't going to knock the socks off of a scratch golfer, but for all others it is a fun course to play with a nice variety of holes.
Best Shape Ever!
Recent weather and the grounds team have combined to put this course in the best shape I've ever played it in.
Great value, low key vibe and great conditions.
Go play!
The greens are in excellent condition!
We came quite early for our reservation. We were able to go out right away. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Have played this course before but the overall condition of the course and especially the greens was excellent and I have never seen it better.
Worst course I've played in WI
I paid for 18 holes riding on a Sunday afternoon and quit after 9 holes took me 3 hours and 20 minutes. Apparently the owner was in the group ahead of me, and I don't understand how he found it acceptable that I had to wait over 30 minutes to tee off by the third hole. This was my first and my last time playing this course. I will recommend that my friends never play this course either. 3 hours and 20 minutes to take 39 swings. Unacceptable. Keep my fees for the back 9 and hire a ranger.
Great course, unfriendly staff, slow pace of play.
The course conditions were near perfect although there were some rough patches. Several of the fairways are wide open. The greens were actually quite small, which added a little toughness to the course. The holes were original and the course was never too stale. All of their par 3's are quite long. The only knock on the course was the staff. I believe if they had a robot in the pro shop, it would have more personality than the gentleman we dealt with. Then we met the bartender who, when we asked if they had any good local beer, looked at us like we were idiots and treated us like we were an inconvenience. The beer cart girl also had next to no personality.
Fun to Play
Great course for a quick round with come difficult holes.
Great Greens & Tight Fairways
Played this round on a very windy morning early in May. Was the first one out, and finished my 18 holes in a little over 2 hours. The greens were very nice and rolled incredibly true. The only problem with the greens was that people were not fixing their ball marks. I fixed about 5 or 6 on EVERY green and I could have fixed 12 to 15. The fairways are tree lined and some are very tight. They only take cash or checks at the pro shop ... who writes checks anymore ? And if you do write checks, do you really carry your checkbook around with you ? This tells me that the course is having financial difficulties ... But that is just a guess. Paid $26 CASH, so the price was sure worth it
Average Course with Fun Layout
This course isn't much as far as conditions. The tee boxes have become fairly uneven. The fairways are just closely mowed grass, and most of them have had drainage issues and show it - it's what I imagine it would be like driving the rover on the moon. The course layout is fun, though, and the greens are ok considering the rest of the course conditions. Get on this course at a <$25 fee and it's worth it. Anything above that and I would be a bit upset.
Bottom line: If you come to this course expecting a 2.5 star course that's fun to play, you won't be disappointed.
April 9th
Course was in rough shape. For the cost of greens fees I was expecting a lot more
WAS VERY SURPRISED WITH THIS COURSE
THIS COURSE WAS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE HOWEVER GOLF CARTS ARE OUTDATED AND HAD TO CONTEND WITH THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL KIDS GOLFING FOR GYM CLASS BUT THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY TO LET US PLAY THROUGH
Greens are in good shape
Great course for cost greens in great shape had greens mowed before our 715 start played in less than 4 hours
A good course to practice on
This is a plain and simple course that is perfect to get out on and practice swinging your clubs. Its nothing fancy, but the course is in good shape. The greens are flat, but they played quick. With the GolfNow Hot Deal, I played for below a buck a hole with riding cart. Much better to practice this way than going to the driving range. I will be going back again for more practice.
Good course
The fairways are tight, but if you miss one there are trees and no super tall grass which makes it easier to make a saving shot. The schedule was a bit tight because there were groups piling up on the first tee. Good course though had fun and there are some scoring chances there.
Well maintained
The course was in very good condition. It is a good play, but nothing about it stands out. The 4th hole is their signature hole and it was unremarkable. I would play it again.
Well Manicured Course
I had heard that Paganica was a nice course, but that does not describe it accurately. This course is as well maintained as any course I have played. The Greens were in great shape and I did not see a weed on the fairways or even in the rough. My hat is off to the course management. I would definitely like to play at Paganica again!
Excellent Value with GolfNow Discount
Played the course for the first time yesterday. With the exception of a large tree in the middle of the fairway on the first hole, the course is straightforward with no gimmicks. Greens are well maintained and true. Clubhouse needs updating ... perhaps a tear down and complete rebuild.
A bit harsh (for any course) on the first week of the season don't you think? 75% of the courses weren't even open for play yet on April 9th 2014.
