Links at Gettysburg
About
The Links at Gettysburg sprawls across rolling hills situated near the hallowed grounds where the defining battle of the Civil War took place. The golf course wages a formidable challenge itself, featuring 35 steep rock cliffs where the stone-lined tee boxes are perched and 10 lakes and waterfalls that come into play throughout. Red rock cart paths give a contrast to the lush greens and sparkling blue waters. The dramatic elevations allow golfers to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside but the scenery can be almost too distracting since the demanding layout requires all of your attention. Be prepared for a bevy of strategically placed bunkers as well as mature trees. With the challenging layout and unrivaled views, it is no surprise that the Links at Gettysburg is ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in Pennsylvania.

Nicest course I've ever played. Living a dream.
Nicest course I've ever played. Living a dream. Definately would and will replay this course again. Staff was outstanding. And conditions were outstanding. Just beautiful.
Immaculate Links course
(Early July 2013) this course is in perfect condition from tee to green.
Like many links courses, this challenging layout requires precision off the tee. Score well on the front nine, because the back nine is much tougher, with extremely tight landing areas off the tee, and long holes with well-protected multi-tiered greens.
You DON'T have to hit driver on every hole.
You'll do well to buy the (very nice) $5 yardage book when you check in, as most of the holes aren't "straightforward" (driver-6 iron holes) but require a "tee shot to the right side of the fairway" for the best angle to the green, or a "layup short of the right bunker", knowing how much of the dogleg to bite off, etc
I played here 6-7 years ago, so I figured I could do without the book and rely on my SkyCaddie for yardages this round. I got away with it this time, but I would have enjoyed my round more with the book. Just sayin'.
This is the kind of course you will want to play again, especially once you've gotten a 'feel' for the course.
(FYI: The range leaves a lot to be desired, though. A pack of those white rubber tees can't cost more than $10 right? Most range mats didn't even have tees, and the ones that did were all chewed up and wouldn't hold a golf ball.)
Beautiful fairways and lightening greens!!
Always in great shape no matter what time of the year. Fairways were immaculate and the greens were pristine. Staff is extremely friendly and pace is always at or under 4 hrs. Picturesque views on every hole with water on almost every hole on the back. I would highly recommend this course if you're in the area. I live in northern Montgomery county and its only a 45 min drive, just past the Penn border up route 15N.
Always a great round
While Whiskey Creek and Musket Ridge get the attention, this is the best course in the greater Frederick, MD area. The course is a great mix of forgiving an challenging holes. The biggest test are the greens. If it's pin position #4, buckle up! The course is always in great shape (though some work is occurring on #10 green) and the staff is great. If you can get a hot deal price on here, you're robbing them.
MUST PLAY!!!!
This course is amazing!! It is beautiful and challenging for any golfer
A must play if you are within 100 miles.
We drove an hour and 45 minutes and would do it again tomorrow! Links at Gettysburg is a great course. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. It has some memorable holes, including #3 which is a downhill par 3 with a 40 ft. slate wall as the backdrop. # 7 is an awesome par 5 with an elevated tee with a landing area with water on both sides. And #8 a drivable par 4 with 20 ft. wall down the right side of the fairway, which I used as a backstop. Hey, it's not how but how many, right?. You finish the day with a great par 5 finishing hole, reachable in 2 for the big hitters. The green is surrounded by another slate wall and some water. It was another great day at the Links of Gettysburg, make the trip you will not be disappointed.
The only negative was that the carts did not have GPS but the course is well marked.
Always a good experience
The Links of Gettysburg is a gem of a course. I have played this course a number of times in the past several years and have always found the course to be in excellent condition. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The greens roll very true and have wonderful contours adding to the challenge. The front nine is a bit easier then the back. Water comes into play on many of the holes on the back nine and the fairways are pretty tight. The course has tremendous scenery and makes fantastic use of the somewhat rugged terrain. Greens fees are quite fair given the high quality of this course and makes it a great value compared with courses closer in to the Baltimore/DC area. There is a reason this course gets high marks on this web site. Beautifully maintained, reasonably priced, fantastic layout makes this a must play for those in the area or those visiting the historic Gettysburg area.
Great Course but very slow play.
This is a great course but no marshals to keep play moving, we played behind 4 players who would not allow us to go thru. They had 1 to 2 full holes open in front of them and no marshals to speed them up. They had the whole course backed up.
The course has many great features.
There are several holes that have doglegs leading to an elevated green. Paar fives are great. Many stratigically placed bunkers along the course add to the difficulty. Lots of water hazzards, especially on the pair threes.
All in all the course was a great challenge for me. The course layout is great. Absolutely beautiful! I would recommend it highly.
True links features with many required carries and challenging greens.
Great staff; wonderful challenges throughout a well tended course; multiple practice areas, electric carts; in summay, a first class track. Due to many elevation changes, and occasional distances from green to next tee, I recommend using a cart. Well worth the 1 hour drive from Harrisburg; I'll be back.
Terrific Golf Course!
The course was in terrific shape when we played it. Greens and fairways both top notch. Bunkers needed some work but after speaking with the Superintendant, he stated that they were his next priority. Staff was courteous and helpfull. The course, especially the back nine, is not for the faint of heart and will test even the low handicappers. All in all, a great day on a great course.
Challenging and interesting course
This was my first time at The Links at Gettysburg, but it won't be my last! The course was in great shape and was very challenging but fair. if you kept the ball in the fairway, it was easy. But if you didn't, you were punished. There were a number of blind shots and a few holes you weren't sure where the best spot to hit was, but it never felt unfair and after playing once, those issues are gone. Also, there was a marshal roaming the course making sure everything was OK. He never once pressured us, and was very nice and friendly. We played on Memorial Day morning with a packed course and still made it around in just a little more than 4 hours. I highly recommend giving this course a try.
An awesome course with great staff
The course forces you to make your shot on several holes. Beautiful setting, great amenities. Definitely will be back.
Outstanding Golf
From the dramatic layout to the superb condition, The Links at Gettysburg is an absolute golf treat. One of the better golf finds in recent memory, this course has it all - eye catching hole vistas, with creative, challenging routings. Its also a tester - you will be challenged, especially on the back 9 with some tight landing areas. Simply an excellent golf experience.
Great Course. Would love to play again.
Gorgeous Course. Only complaint is that the sand could have been a bit softer, otherwise a beautiful and challenging course. It's the type of course on which you'll want to play smart golf. There is plenty of water as well as a plethora of green-side bunkers to make play challenging. so if you end up with a good score, you feel good in that you earned it. I would recommend this course to anyone, and I hope to find myself back there soon.

Unique holes and terrain
We played as a twosome on a Wednesday and almost had the course to ourselves. The conditions were very good and the greens rolled a little fast and very true. The layout is interesting and the holes with the red rock faces as backdrops are quite unique and interesting looking. I would say the front nine is definitely easier than the back depending on the prevailing wind although there are some blind tee shots on the front that make it interesting if you have not played the course before (thank goodness for modern golf with a GPS). In particular, the very first hole has you hitting to a target on a fairway that drops off severely. Placement is important due to the creek in front of the green but the creek and green are well below the fairway so you can't see them from the tee. Local knowledge or experience playing the course would help in these cases, but this is a minor complaint. At the Golfnow rate, the round was a bargain and we're looking forward to playing again (especially since we now have a feel for some of the holes with blind tee shots).
Great Course
The front 9 is fun and some moderately difficult holes with a long par 5. The back 9 is full of water hazards and challenging. The course is beautiful and well maintained.
Course is in magnificant shape!
It always seems to be a pleasure to come back to The Links at Gettysburg. It was a beautiful day and the course was in terrific shape. Kudos to the greenskeeper! We played on a weekday so the course wasn't crowded and the pace of play went well.
evil greens
Played here 1 time before in rain and really liked it. Played it again weather was a little chilly and some wind. The course is beautiful the greens are scary. Putting is my strongest part of my game and I had 5 3 putt bogeys (barely making 2 other pars with 10'+ 2nd putt). Lots of contortions but they're a great speed. Some intimidating drives and second shots with water and/or trees running length of fairways. There are some giant sand traps that need to be avoided. Its a fun course because it really makes you think on the tee. You gotta plan your route not just grab driver and swing away. Its easily my new favorite course. Only complaints were a couple of badly uneven tee boxes that were obviously not the normal box but still. The driving range is small but does the job. And man whoever set some of those pins that morning must've been mad! But we play golf for the fun of the challenge. We actually booked next weeks round as soon as we got home.
Beautiful course from start to finish!
Even for pre-season the fairways were in awesome shape. The greens are some of the most challenging around. Difficult course. Beautiful course. Definitely recommend to anyone. A must play!
