Overall pleased with the experience!
The front 9 played very quick as I caught up to a foursome that kindly let me play through. And then there were a couple singles that were stacked up behind another foursome that really bogged down the play. I decided to ask the on single to join up and then we asked the other single which really helped the round start moving again! On #12 the other foursome let us play thru and it was smooth sailing through the round!
Improving everyday!!
For where the course was two years ago to where it is today is awesome. It’s going in the right direction!! Can’t wait for the club house to open!!
September 2024
Overall, the course was OK… But the greens and some of the fairways were hard as rocks and I understand that we were we are in a drought, but it was just really really bad and some areas. But for less than $25, I guess I can’t complain too much
Good time
The course is challenging and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely be going back.
Needs water but overall good!
The course is in desperate need of an irrigation system to bring it up to 5 stars. Dead spots throughout course due to no irrigation system!
Wolf’s Den
Pretty good condition, pace was awesome, staff was very friendly! I’ll be going back again next month.
Good but issues that need fixed
I enjoy golfing here. But unfortunately I can’t go back because everytime I check golf now they only have groups of 2 or more available for tee times for 18 holes. As well, the 9 hole tee times that are for 1 player say 18 holes underneath them so I don’t even know what I would be reserving. 9 or 18 holes. Please look into fixing this so I can begin coming back and enjoying the course. I can’t go back until I know what I am paying for.
Course also needs to continue to improve. Seems like things have stalled out on the improvement. Please make this course great. It could be but it needs the support and hard work. Please address the above issue so that I can continue supporting this up and coming growing golf course.
Same as Moss Oak
Hard as a rock. Cement greens. No irrigation unless it rains. Guessing game on the tees. Wasn’t sure where the right tee boxes were located. They were not marked on half the holes. Played a decade ago in a league when it was Moss Oak. Nothing has improved since then. Bunkers in front of every green. Meh!
Challenging course but not maintained
The course itself was challenging and a fun course to play. The staff was also very friendly. However, the grass was overgrown and was hard to distinguish the fairway from the rough. I even lost a few balls just outside the fairway due to them being buried in thick grass. The tee boxes were difficult to find as well and were probably in the worst condition I’ve seen up to date. Portions of the tee boxes were almost exclusively rock solid dirt. I arrived around 11:30 to use the driving range before my tee time and was not able to because it was shut down. The greens were good and fairly challenging but there were a lot of divots making certain spots hard to play. This seems like it could be a good course in the future as the holes were nice layout wise but the place had a lot of construction going on along with the poor maintenance of the course. Maybe in the future, if they put some time into cleaning it up a bit, I’d give it a higher rating. However, as of now, this course isn’t really worth the time or money in my opinion.
Greens are SLOOOOOOOW
Large greens, but speed is extremely slow. Tee boxes in rough shape. Fairways are good. Could use another set of tees as shortest is 5100 yards, which is really tough for beginners and most ladies (IMO)
Graywolf
First time at Graywolf. Had a 11:27 t-time. The owner doing the check-in, was super friendly and helpful with the directions and locations of the1st, & 10th tees, the driving range and the practice greens. Their Graywolf mascot was on the premises (I think he was part husky).
The course is long and has 5 t-boxes . The fairways are well kept and the greens are faster than other courses I played on. This course was destroyed by the 2019 tornado. The clubhouse is being rebuilt and will open next year. I can't wait to play this course again. It was a lot of fun and challenging.
High Hopes
I’ve tried to remain optimistic that this course would be able to be make a come back to the Dayton area. What bit of progress it seemed to be having has all but stalled out. Club house is still not finished and the course conditions have gone from not good to horrific. So many weeds clover has taken over the first cut off the fairways and around the greens. Most of the tee boxes are destroyed, fairways are in bad shape greens still have ant hills all over them. I might play the course again next year to see if it’s ever going to turn the corner, but, as far as this year goes don’t waste your money!
Work in progress
Third year after reopening
Greens and sand traps were clean and in good shape
Fairways were ok. Lack of rain, and irrigation causes hard fairways.
Otherwise in decent overall condition
