Would Return
Nice course overall. We teed off early so we were not exposed to the slow play.
Very nice course Very crowded so it was a little slow but otherwise very nice. Very friendly people
Bring a book
I like this course but I can't remember the last time I had a round that was less than 5 hours. Be prepared these greens are very quick..
Improved significantly from last round
Tee boxes have been greatly improved after a long period of neglect. Traps and fairways also much better. Some very good greens and a few that could be better. In general the course is on the right track
Good…not great.
Greens - Great
The rest - Needs a little more for the $$$.
Pace of play - was slow on front, picked up on the back. It was 82 degrees in January so they were packed. Still played at PACE according to in cart GPS system.
So $45 for rental clubs. Rentals were 2018 and Mia matched Titleist set. No balls included - come on a sleeve of WILSON staff Duo with logo is gonna set you back $4…make the rental price $50 and include a sleeve of balls.
Also - $90 green fee and no rebate balls included. Again charge $95 or $100 and include the range balls.
Carts - not clean, very basic. Only positive there is the PACE SYSTEM. It’s very good GPS.
I would play this course again…but with a few upgrades it could be a $120 course and still packed. The other open to public courses in the area are more extended executive type courses so this is one of few “real” 18 hole layouts and could be really really good.
Good value
Good value for the golf. The staff were extremely nice. Only problem was the slow play. On a par five we could see five different groups. But we were paired with two very nice gentleman that made it seem not so bad.
Much Improved
Tee boxes have beeb reseeded, fairways were well manicured and greens were sprayed but pretty true. New cold carts are a BIG improvement and the investment in the overall course was visible. Cart lady was a little infrequent and they need more cart “lockout @ signs when you approach the green…. We got stuck a couple times with no warning.. overall, a MUCH IMPROVED golf experience!!!
Good all around golf course.
Layout is a challenge as water comes into play on a number of holes so bring your ” A “ game. . It’s long so if your an average player the silver tees are the best choice. Very decent shape. All around a pleasure to play.
SLOW PLAY
Its getting more and more difficult to finish a round in under 5 hrs
Our Round at Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club
Our round at Bardmoor was a a pleasant experience. Staff was just ok, course was a pretty good layout but the conditions were average. Tee boxes were ok, fairways had had some pretty bare patches here and there and the greens were a bit slow with lots of ball marks. The sand in the bunkers was pretty consistent but it seems like many of them did not get raked after play. Overall I'd rate this course a 7 out of 10.
Beware of Pace of Play
I do not give reviews but I want to warn others to avoid the issues I experienced. 2 player 18-hole w/cart tee time at 3:15pm with sunset at 6:15pm. 6400 yard course from the middle tees. I’m an average golfer (8 to 15 over on standard Par 72 course) as is my girlfriend. In general, if it’s busy, we play best ball to keep up pace of play and/or pair up.
We teed off at our scheduled tee time with the starter but there was ranger. There was a staff employee/cart barn attendant on a cart fishing for balls in-between cleaning carts but said nothing to anyone (other than tips were appreciated when we returned the cart). We finished 9-holes at 6:30pm. There were 4 groups in front of us and we watched the group of 2 players in front of us hit 4 balls off the tee (most unplayable) almost every hole & shot. Called into the Pro Shop to ask if a ranger was on the course to help with pace of play and the attendant simply said “No” and hung up. I asked for a 9-hole rain check after returning the cart and the attendant said, “I’m sorry I can’t do that. It’s not raining and it’s weekend golf”.
I’m not complaining despite wanting to but rather giving a warning of what to expect at this course. If I were advising a friend, I would not suggest this course.
