Home course
Bardmoor has become our "home course", due to both proximity to where we live and also how nice it is. Front 9 is easier than the back, at least to me. Need to know where to lay up on the Par 5's if you need to as there are ponds all around. Bryan does a great job behind the desk and the course is always in good shape.
Clearly was a gem, but those days are long in the past.
The Good - the greens are quite solid, good coverage, and roll true.
The rest is just bad.
PACE was very poor, 5 hours 20 minutes and no ranger in sight.
While the greens are good, the tee boxes are only ok, fairways are more like rough and have an incredible amount of irrigation issues coming through as completely wet, many if not all the bunkers have no clear demarcation to indicate where they start and stop.
To be clear, the golf course superintendent and their staff are likely doing all they can, the issues with the property are clearly tied to a lack of long term repair and refresh.
This is a $15 - $20 golf course and they need to provide a 6 pack for every 15 minutes over 4.5 hours especially when they don't even put a ranger out there!
BARDMOOR GOLF COURSE REVIEW
2 Hours before my booked tee time the sky steadily brought down heavy rain and continued raining for approximately 2 additional hours after what would have been my tee timer. I called Bardmoor an hour before my booked tee time to cancel, and they refused to acknowledge the vast amount of rain and lightning associated with this storm, stating the OWNER says they never close the course no matter what, so you can golf using cart path only rules. What a joke, the rain was so bad at times there was no visibility looking outside and you'd be putting yourself in harms way. Just thought I'd share my experience with you.
Thank You,
Kevin
Your place for 5 hour rounds!
At 7:30 on a Sunday morning the starter put out a 5-some of regulars that brought play to a halt. After 9 holes they were 2 holes behind, and a 2-some actually jumped in the gap between groups. Play is glacially slow and nowhere near the money they want to charge.
Bad shape
Course is in bad shape.. The pics on Tee off make it look good but the course is in desperate need of fixing. Fairways were cut too short. Muddy fairways with lots of dead spots and dead grass. Green were bad not the quality I expected for a Florida coast course. I don't think it was worth the $17 dollars I paid. Not worth playing.
The greens are wonderful. True. Course layout is awesome. The drainage is great but there are several small areas of damaged fairway due to heavy rains.
Surprised
I played this course before a few years back and I don't remember it being so poorly maintained. I don't have any problem playing a course in the sort of condition this one is in, but not at $60 for 18 holes.
The 3rd guy my mom and I played with (added to the group after we booked two-some on golfnow.com) paid $70... which is totally bogus.
The gentleman in the pro shop in the morning wasn't terribly friendly and essentially discouraged me from warming up because we only had about 15 minutes before our tee time, but then begrudgingly sold me a small bucket of balls anyway. At any rate, we made it to the tee box on time, for a 5 hour round of golf. To be fair, we did let one group play through because we left behind a head cover.
The cart lady was sort of nice, but also sort of impatient, and short.
Have a look at the pictures...
The tee boxes (one circled in red, which is also the shot with the feet in it) are atrocious. Like, next level poorly maintained. The tee box markets are a mish mash of stuff that seems to have been collected from run down or closed golf courses around the country.. sometimes wood stakes, other oversize plastic golf balls, most of the "brown" we played were actually painted over "blue" from another life... and it was very difficult to find the correct tee box to hit from.
Every single cup looks exactly like the one pictured. The greens are covered with ant hills.... I could go on but the bottom line is that the place is very poorly maintained and is probably worth less than half of what we were charged to play, today.
It has potential, and beautiful sunrises. It was in much better shape the last time I played, a few years back, but it will take a lot of work to make it worth $60 again. Either way, I wont be back to find out.

Bardmoor
One of the best public courses in area. Course in decent shape for August with good variety of hole layouts. Greens a little slower than expected, but in good condition. Staff was exceptionally accommodating. Replaying it later this week. A must in my twice a year visit to the area.
