Beautiful, well kept course, pace of play an issue
Bardmoor is one of the best semi-public courses in Pinellas County. The fairways are broad, the holes are diverse, and the water features are pristine. I’ve played here numerous times and the course is almost always in great shape. The greens are well maintained and roll true. The drawbacks here are glaring though - the staff is simply unfriendly bordering on rude. The vibe is as if they don’t actually want you there. Add to that the fact that the price is steep and nearly always overbooked making pace of play remarkably slow. Sadly, cause it is a great course, all things considered, it might be money better spent for a better time to golf elsewhere.
Over booked. Took just over 5hrs to play rd.
Had 1:30 tee time. Waited every single tee box for often times 10 minutes. Took over 5hrs to play 17 holes. Did not get 18 in. Very frustrating. Took much money to not be able to finish. Over booked!
I really like the course. Pace of play was great but usually it’s 5 hrs. No food shack open that day. But well worth $60.
Previous Reviews Not My Experience
I was leery about coming to play Bardmoor after reading the reviews from early Jan 2025, but I didn't experience the horror stories of some reviewers. The pace of play was under 4 hours. Greens were fast and fair, with some recently seeded/sanded spots but nowhere near the disaster, some claimed. All in all, it was a nice course, and I would play again if I'm in the area in the future.
Poor Greens
Sand traps are not maintained. Greens are poor. The course needs to Be renovationed.
YIKES!!
Three hours to play the front, waited for 3 groups, one which was a twosome to go off the first tee. In total 5+ hours to play and we rushed on the back nine. The greens ALL had some sort of disease or damage to them and the tee boxes were just as bad. Couple of dogleg blind tee shots and the cart GPS didn’t tell you where the carts were that were in front of you on the same hole.
Busy and Slow
The course is short of carts. I arrived 1 hr before my tee time. I couldn't get a cart till last min. When i get to hole #1, those tee time behind me all got a cart already. so i don't understand their logic of assigning carts. I nearly missed my tee off. Got triple bogey because of the rush.
The playing pace is extremely slow. It took me 5 hr+ to finish 17. (18 is not playable because it's dark.) There are holes where 3 groups are waiting to tee off. The problem is they only put 5-7 mins between each tee time then what can we expect?
The course condition is average. Green is fast and sandy. It's not a cheap course, so i think it can be better this what it is now. Maybe that's just the nature of golf in this area then i don't know. I only go back if it's $50.
No care for pace of play or friendliness
Just played this course today 1/3/25, our tee time was 1pm we showed up 20 minutes early and got checked in. Went to grab a cart so we could start chipping and putting and they had zero carts available. Guy said it would be a wait but wasn’t sure how long. We get to the tee box just after 1 and there’s 4 other carts lined up with players waiting to tee off as well. Mind you there’s a starter who definitely did not have things in order. Finished the front 9 at 4pm. 3 hours for the front and got in 2 holes on the back before our cart died and the sun was setting. Poor course management all the way around. Not happy I spent $60 for it.
O well we tried it.
First time playing this course and some of the reviews said it was amazing. The clubhouse is in good condition and staff for a friendly. Lots of parts of the course were dead grass or over sanded areas. The greens have wood chips or almost like bark all over the sanded greens. When you put the ball, it jumped everywhere..
One of the Best
Great Course,& Conditions .Super Practise facilities ,Not my best game but cant blame the course, well worth every penny..................
Not a bad course
The staff was friendly and helpful. Played at 12:30p. We got lucky because the weather was calling for rain so the course wasn’t busy which gave us no issues with the pace. Played 18 in 3hrs 45mins. I got an online deal for $42 USF. The fairways and greens were in good shape. The rough was on the dry side but playable. The sand traps aren’t what you’d expect, they need sand. To me it’s no more than a $50 round, their regular price is $89 US. I wouldn’t recommend it at full price. You can do better for that kinda money or add $10 and pay $100 for a nice course. All said and done if there’s a deal for under $50 I’d go back.
Don't be in a hurry
Good course, greens and tees in good shape, the rest of the course is in below average condition. Pace of play is poor.
