Same Ole thing.
Every time I've come here to play they always say "oh we have new management, we have a plan to fix the course.
I'm talking years of playing here occasionally.
They never fix it. It's always.... It's coming.
The greens are 2 putt greens. Meaning when you get on the green, it's a maximum of 2 putts on your score card because the condition on many of the greens are unputtable. This is the first winter I have played here when they didn't overseed, and it shows. At least when they overseeded they were able to hide a lot of the deplorable conditions. This course has actually gone down hill since new ownership about a year and a half ago. If that's possible. This is one of those courses that no matter who owns it, they just can't figure out if you make it a "real" golf course they will come. This course is one of the best layouts of any courses in this area. It's just too bad ownership has let it go.

course in bad condition
We had not played Stonecrest GC for a year or better. Now I know why. It is in terrible condition. Greens are horrendous shape, and fairways are not much better. Overall the course needs lots of attention and loving care. Course design and layout is somewhat challenging, but until massive changes are made, I would no-way recommend playing it.

Until they fix the greens it is a waste of time.
What a waste of a great layout. The owner should be ashamed. 100000 golfers within 10 miles and the guy won't put grass on the greens. Shameful.

Needs a lot of work !
Cheap ok, but so is a cow pasture. The greens are totally wiped out. The fairways are rough ! What is so bad is that it has a pretty nice layout and mix of holes. Too bad they let the thing go to crap.
Sorry, but move along, don’t waste your time here until they get a new grounds keeper !

Needs a little TLC
Nice layout and facility but the greens could be improved as far as composition. They rolled good but there was sand on a few of the greens coming through and some had rough grass on them. I would play it again because the trek was nice.

Course still needs a lot of work
I got a Great Hot deal, otherwise no way l would pay anything above $25. Just too many nearby courses charging reasonable prices. The worst greens to putt on, over taken by crab grass. It's too bad such a nice fun course to play has been neglected.

Great course just needs some TLC
This could be an awesome course with its layout and plan. The only thing that holds that back is the condition. The greens had diet patches and was bare in places. If they focused on that a little more the course could be exceptional.

Price was good to practice your swing
Course is in terrible shape. Greens are horrible! Weeds, bad spots, no maintenance. Fairways look like they never were overseeded nor are they watering them. Brown n dry. Price is ok if you want to practice your swing. Not worth keeping score because greens are bad!

Coming back after going downhill
I am told new owners are investing in the course. It can be a gem but is in very poor condition. I hope they bring it back. For the money if you can put up with poor greens and the rest it’s still fun to play.

Meh
The greens looked like brocoli patches and the putting conditions reflected that. This is a course in decline, but you can get a tee time at a relatively cheap price. Glad I didn't buy a house in this gated community.

we complained to the golf shop about course conditions and they said the grass is dormant, dash, how bout overseeding.. GREENS had weeds on them and course was very dry. We a.lso ca.led shop from 11th hole do to s.low play, waiting 5 minutes or more on each shot. Will not go back, there,

I played this course in the past and it was very nice.Unfortunately the course was not maintained by the previous managers and its rough now.
The good news is that they have new management and an aggressive plan to bring the course back.

Bad Conditions
Both the fairways, and the greens are in terrible condition. Groundhog holes all over the course , and groundhogs popping out of the holes all over the place..

This course could be spectacular with some investment.
The course has huge possibilities. The layout is great. The greens need attention ($, water and grass seed) but it doesn’t appear that they are being addressed. The staff was friendly. Pace of play was slow. Over 4 1/2 hours. No rangers on the course to move people along.
It’s a shame that the course conditions are not being addressed. Spend some money and the people would come to play here.
