Hurricane rebound
This is one of the first courses in the area to open after hurricane Milton hit this area. The staff was supper friendly and appreciated returning golfers. Still a lot of casual water on the course and the bunkers were not good. I look forward to a playing this course after everything is cleaned up.
Nice hidden gem
Under new ownership
Tough first 3 holes
alot of elevation changes. Off season conditions, but very playable. Greens med fast, very grainy.
Very undulating fairways, hard to get a flat lie . challenging track.
pro shop employees very helpful friendly Shout out to Dee.
Back nine
Due to the hurricane back nine was all that was open. Be back nine is amazing.. I would recommend this course to anybody looking for a challenge. Five sets of tees and a great staff.
Costly 9holes due to lack o carts
I booked a ttime on line for 4 and paid convenience fee e of ~10$ as for the booking 18 holes would have been 34$ pluss tax. Course did not have enough carts to support its booked t times. We teed off @235 and paid 29$ for nine holes seems like my 10$ booking fee should be refunded.
Stonecrest is Coming Back
Had a fun time (and were rather picky on courses). Greens were fast and true; bunkers were well groomed; tee boxes were average for Florida; Fairways were interesting (in a good way) and well groomed. Crabgrass in the fairways and ants are a minor issue but should be addressed. Overall, I’d definitely go back.
Improvement
I live in this community and I'm disappointed with the condition of the course. We had a lot of rain which made about 3 holes unplayable but the price didn't drop. Now they are getting rid of golf now and I will not pay the price they want for this course in the condition it is in. They are trying to save money by not cutting some areas so a lot more time is spent looking for your ball.
Great shape. Excellent value
The course was in great shape. Fairways could use some more attention but the greens were really nice. Layout is challenging but fair.
New Management ?
This course is one of my favorites in the area. It’s now under new ownership or management, can’t say for sure but, it is still well maintained and I see improvements being made on the greens . It also looks like they are trying to bring water into play on the 4th hole. All in all, a very nice place with a friendly atmosphere and reasonable challenge for the average golfer.
Love this Course
The people are great and the course is fun to play.
Good day of golf
The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were in better shape than when I last played them. The price was excellent. The only negative was the humidity and lack of a breeze on the front nine, neither of which could I blame Broad Stripes. Good day of golf. Thank you.
Rewarding golf
Came out here Sunday afternoon after watching my Dolphins get the W ! Paid through golf now app got there right about closing time but everyone is always nice and super accommodating l You are always greeted with a smile ! Was solo but in no hurry teed off about 505. Only 2nd time playing here and played the back twice front wasn’t opened. For the price I paid $32 and with the design and set up the conditions it is worth every penny. With that said there are some rough spots in the fairways but know that going in and agree to “winter rules” the greens were in very good condition and if you have played here you know the greens will challenge you if you put ball in the wrong place. when the rain came down as I came up to 17 it was close to 7 I took more than my time playing where I could ride up and see what was up there being a new course and I never saw another golfer out there. Felt like a king with the course to myself haha ! I know others were out but on the back but never saw them. The rough was better but still long and I actually only went into 2nd cut once but found ball and advanced it as far as possible as expected a penalty of sorts as that 2nd cut is tall. Tee boxes are okay to fine. Now I just love the sport and unless I am paying probably $75 or more I always expect that it’s not going to be Augusta National and as long as greens have grass and cut, fairways overall playable within “winter rules” and can find my ball unless it’s really bad shot than I will always have fun. I thought price paid was more than fair even a great deal ! I like courses that also reward late play with great rates like they do here and wouldn’t think twice about playing here again. If you are the morning weekend golfer you have to pay that price I would personally be hapoy with a rate of $50-60 this time of year but I play evening golf so play 2 rounds for the price you morning guys pay for 1! Go give it a shot it is course where you have to do more than just grip it and rip it ! See you all again soon !
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
I know the new owners are working hard on the course, the greens are good, but the fairways need work. Two holes are almost unplayable due to the water from the storms.
My biggest issue is the grass being to high. I played with a friend and we lost 8 balls in one day due to the grass. If your ball goes off the fairway just a little bit you can never find it on certain holes.
