Most greens were playable. Not much grass in most fairway because of lack of rain
Cross creek
This course is in great shape for the drought we have had. The fairways are cut perfectly and the grass around the greens are awesome. The greens are near perfect.
They are in the process of putting in a new irrigation system and are making good progress in doing so. Once this is complete the course conditions should stay pretty much the same as now.
Fun golf course, good value, but extremely slow.
Course is in pretty good shape. The value is good for the course, probably too good. Played as a solo yesterday and played two balls and it took me a little over 5 hours to play. Once you pay and get on the course it’s a free for all and people skip holes and do whatever they want. Just be prepared to wait pretty much any time or day you go.
AverageNOTgreat
Some of the holes are impossible for 80 year olds. The fairways were in good shape with grass to hit off of except hole 4. BUT even though the greens had grass - they DID NOT HOLD AT ALL. I hit my best approach shot of the round on hole 14 and the ball went more than 10 yards over the green and it was a very deep green.
Course is ok
The greens are in bad shape. That’s nothing new here and the pace of play is horrible. Usually by the 4th tee you just play the waiting game.
Best shape I’ve played this course in
Played here a few times now, saw a hot deal and booked a tee time for under 20 bucks. For the money, it’s a great course. Greens a bit slow but again for the price point on a deal, it’s hard to beat.
First Timer
The course was a great value and in responsibly good condition. While the tees, fairway, and greens were in fact green (due to recent and much needed rain) the tee boxes were sometimes uneven, the fairways were quite hard, however the greens were in good shape. If it is your first time going, head across the street to the driving range before you check in, as you are not allowed to drive the cart across the highway. Pace of play was a bit slow, but likely due to the mix of two and foursomes on at the time. An easy 45-60 minute drive from Birmingham or Huntsville and fun to play. I will go back.
Really nice public course
Played this course for the first time 2 days ago. I live out of state and happened to be in the area. Really nice public course with an interesting layout. I thought the course conditions were in line with the green fees which isn't always the case. i would play here again when visiting. For those who prefer to walk, it's a bit hilly but I noticed several people carrying their bags.
