Good shape
We played here a month ago and enjoyed it! We made it back and the Warrior course is in good shape!
First time in over 20 years
They’d aerated the greens with small holes the week before, but they rolled fairly well.
Patriot
Course is in pretty good condition considering the heat and drought. Greens are not to firm and will hold the ball. Starter is a great guy and was very friendly and helpful.
A Good Place to Golf
I play this course about once a month and it's a good alternative to some of the more expensive courses in the area. On most holes, if you can stay in the fairway and putt you can probably par, or come close to paring the course. The back nine gets a bit more challenging than the front, requiring more shaping of shots, and there are a few tricky greens. The fairways and greens are average at best, but it's rare that the grass gets too long. The bunkers always look like they could use some work and are usually filled with extremely hard sandy dirt.
The people in the pro-shop are usually helpful and friendly, and they have stocked it with a good number of accessories such as clothing, bags, shoes, etc., as well as Demo clubs. I've been fitted for clubs by the Pro's there and also bought several sets, drivers, and fairway metals.
There is a attached snack bar attached to the pro-shop that serves a variety of food, and cold beer on tap.
If anyone is seeking a good economical place to play, walking or riding, Redstone Links is a good place to be.
Sticker shock!
Played this coarse many times over the last 20 years. Course has never been in the greatest of shape. The coarse looks as good as i have ever seen it. Always played as a contractor working on the Arsenal and the price was reasonable. I paid $45 dollars here and that included cart No matter how this coarse looks or plays its not worth $45. Just recently the MWR/Arsenal are allowing the public to use the facilities here on Redstone. Charging the pubic more to play or use facilities that our tax dollars pay for is not the right formula. I will probably turn my access badge back in and move on.
