Cherokee Ridge Country Club

Course is in really good condition from tee to green. A couple of bunkers could use some work but overall no complaints. They are stingy on the range balls-the bag had about 20 balls.

Greens are in great condition. Fairways need another month or so to fill out- they are a bit thin this time of year. Rough is short enough to find and hit errant shots. The traps need some attention because the sand is real thin in some areas and some traps don't drain real well- but they have improved significantly from the winter months.

The staff is perfect! They are the most friendly staff in North Alabama and treat the public as well as their members.

First time this year and the course was spectacular. Very characteristic, lots of different settings on different holes. Friendly staff. Will play again.

Course was not in good condition, trouble drainage on fairways, greens needed to be cut

Great day all around. Winter conditions but still a very nice club.

The course is beautiful and fun to play. Love the layout. None of the fairways are side by side, meaning you won't accidentally hit your ball on another fairway.

The course was not in the best condition when I played compared to previous experiences.

Greens were suboptimal and fairways were water logged. Huge tire marks were everywhere from commercial seeding and fertilization! Not good, because they prevented balls from advancing. Bunkers were filled with water. The course should be in better shape by mid to the end of April!

Got a good deal on Golf Now so tried this course for the first time. First the good:

- Challenging Course. Tight for most of the course. Penalizes you for missing fairways. Enough bunkers and corners to make you think about your shots.

Now for the not so good:

- Most bunkers are in horrible shape. Not really possible to hit out of them. (Only 1/2 sand at most)

- Water soaked course and bunkers. Not the courses fault, just mentioning it.

A very nice layout. They had just punched the greens so they did not roll very well. Once the greens fill in and the course greens up a bit then this is one of the nicer courses in N. Alabama.

I have booked this course from GolfNow several times, people here is very nice and the course is good.

This is a very nice place to play golf. Beautiful community out away from the city. It's fairly unforgiving in spots but safe if you play the 150 markers. The scenery is awesome.

Great place to impress your boss! Yes it was cold, yes it was windy...but SOOO worth it. Beautiful corse even though its wnter. Landscape and views are astounding. Greens are like glass and tee boxes are well kept. Will definitely play this course again and again!

You can tell the course used to be top notch but in need of some updating and a good grounds crew now. Typical storyline here...Private Club initially and then over time having to become a public course to sustain itself. Course was getting lots of play which meant the pace of play was incredibly slow (5 hours plus) including a very quick 10 minute break at the turn. No course Marshall to police the hackers who don't seem understand that a twosome is always going to play quicker than a foursome. The course was overbooked for the afternoon time slots. To be fair however...It is worth the money to play it as long as your green fee is no more than $45 to $50 for the round. The back nine really is incredibly beautiful and challenging. See video.

Played in the sweltering heat of summer, but greens were rough. Had borderline lost several sections on a few holes on front nine. I thought the hole variety was very sound. I thought the collection of par 3s were the star of this layout. You definitely would benefit from seeing this course once around the second time. There are some weird angles on some of the par 4s, but I liked the quirkiness. The 10th hole is one of the coolest par 5s I've ever played anywhere. Hit it as long and straight as you can off the tee. Then murmur to yourself why you have to lay up with a PW because the downhill second shot has a tremendous forced carry to a shallow green. I loved the third shot, which is then uphill. Excellent hole. One thing that was a little odd was the girl in the pro shop upon check in didn't know how to assign points to my Troon account for playing, since this is one of their facilities. I will definitely be back though, hopefully when the greens are better, because it is a good layout.

Staff was excellent.

Course was in winter conditions and had recently seen a lot of rain. Cart path only. Course was in very good shape all things considered.

Only negatives - no water in the dispensers. Very limited concessions, no snack bar, no cart girl.

Fun layout. Need to keep it in the fairway.

If you get a chance to play this great course you need to do it. Super lay out, great views, wonderful greens.

I recently moved from the area and played CRCC weekly or bi-weekly. I never played on the weekends, so I don't know the true pace of play or how the course handles a lot of tee times. Overall, I think this course is very well layed out. Beautiful scenery on most holes. You even lose some cell service in some areas, which I love! Greens were in good shape most of the time, but the bunkers were rough at times. I play.

All 4 of us drive the ball about 250, so we thought the blues at 6350 was better suited since the whites were only a little over 5900. With all elevation changes, the white tees will be our choice next time!
