Really good course in the middle of town.
Good layout. Some very long fairways. Most greens pretty good. Very busy.
New amenities
Haven't been in a while and was pleasantly surprised at a few new things to do. New mini range was great. The staff was great. The greens were exceptional bit the fairways were like concrete. Hard to get under for wedges and irons.
I had a great time and enjoyed the pace and other golfers. Shall and already have recommended it to others.
Good Value For The Price
The course layout is great. The fairways are in as good of shape as I have ever seen them. The greens, however, are another story... they are horrendous! And, to make matters worse, the pin placements are right in the middle of the worse spots on the greens. If the pins would be placed in the better areas of the greens, it wouldn't be so bad. I can't understand why golf course superintendents don't understand this basic principle. All-in-all, I would play there again; especially, for the price.
Rene Caballero
Fairways were in pretty decent shape. Greens were bad. Holes haven’t been moved in a while. Just tough to putt on
Webb' greens
Course maintained well except for the greens no grass
Public Course-Worth your time for the money
This was my first time playing at Webb. I’ve heard mixed reviews. However I think the only fair thing to do is compare it to other municipal park courses. In this way, it compares very favorably. The course was well maintained and new trees had just been planted. There seems to be an effort to improve the facility, as they just put in a netted cage with about 6 bays. A driving range would be better, but this is a good alternative. There is also a chipping green. The course was not overly booked and it was a beautiful day, and I played around noon. It’s not as nice as any of the nicer courses in the BR area (Pelican Point, Greystone), but it’s more than adequate for the price.
I love this course. Greens were extremely fast with the harsh winter
that we have been through in this region. All in all, the course was in great shape considering the harsh winter. I totally like the new practice range with the nets...nothing like warming up before a round. I walked 18, will absolutely be back for sure. Keep up with the upgrades.....
Pro Shop Staff
I have been playing for 40 years at this course and I have never experience such un-professional staff service in the pro shop. I arrived at the golf course at 11:40 and went inside to check in for a 12:20 tee time. I was told I had to wait till 11:50 before I could check in. There was no other customers at that time and they made me stand there for 10 minutes, until 11:50, before I could check in. They told me that this was because of Golf Now. I book a lot of tee times through golf now and never been treated like this at any other courses.
The greens have no grass on them. With the weather we have had over the last few weeks in Baton Rouge there is no excuse.
Course is getting better and better!
I have been playing here for 2 years. Over the past year I have noticed course conditions getting better and better. The bunkers were raked and in better condition. The fairways are in good condition and the greens are being better maintained.
They now have a driving practice area. Its not a range, but an area protected by net and artificial turf. It's pretty nice.
Please keep up the good work,
-G
Great value for a fun course!
You can't get much better value for this course. The greens are in excellent shape and rolling very fast and true. Aside from the new renovations near the first tee, this a great course to play. Highly recommended.
I really love the layout. You still have to make the shots
and stay in the short grass. I always enjoy this course!
Great Time on the Course
This is a nice city park course. The layout includes both easy approaces & wide fairways along with several challenging holes. Bunkers in good condition, greens rolled true and decent fairways. We had fun and had a great time.
About what I expected for $15
I've played this course several times over the years and it's always hit or miss. The greens were more like browns but other than that, it was what I expected for a $15 round of golf. I played 18 holes in 2.5 hours so that was a big plus. I guess everyone else was too busy watching the eclipse!
Dis remembered
I cut my teeth on this course back in the early to late 70s. BREC should invest time and effort to maintain this course. Very bad fairways and the greens are barely puttable because they are so dry. And I played it the morning after a rainstorm that night. Next time I come home I will find another course to spend $30.00 on.
Great Place for a 2 Hour round of Golf
The course was not busy and I was able to play at my pace. Also a very good price on Golf Now if you are flexible with your time.
