About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Rough shape but affordable
The course is in very rough shape. There is mud sections of most fairways, and the bunkers have seen better days. The greens weren’t terrible, considering the rest of the course. It’s a budget round so I wasn’t expecting much, but hard to understand how a course can get to that point.

I’ll give it a 4/10
Tee time was at 1130 got there around 1045 and guy in pro shop said course was pretty open and to go ahead and tee off. Had to join up with a single in front of us due to super slow 4some. The staff was unfriendly, the bartender didn’t seem too happy to see us. The bunkers were basically craters you would find on the moon. They recently punched the fairways as well as the greens, so it should be in better shape in a few weeks or so. There was not a cart girl on the course today not sure if they come out on weekdays or not. The views of the course were very nice though, we really enjoyed the elevated tee boxes. We got through 18 in just under 4 hours so the pace of play is good. 4/10

Not bad
I’ve played here a few times in the last couple of months. The greens are nice, they were just punched probably a couple of days ago but I assume they will be pretty good again in a couple of days. The cart path/golf carts are not the best but I really only care about greens. Grass, fairways, rough they are all eh but like I said the greens aren’t bad so you can still enjoy the round. Not bad for $30-$50 for the dfw area

Fun times!
I had great time playing this course. Pretty challenging and fun to play. With all of rain, the course was in great shape. The staff at the pro shop was very professional and friendly. Looking forward to playing here again!

Course is in bad condition. Ruts in several fairways, weeds in most fairways. Course looks like it has not been maintained in a long time

Bad shape
The course was in terrible shape! Especially Cary paths, I feel I need a chiropractic adjustment after playing yesterday!!
I would literally play any other DFE course before going back there!

Rough Shape
I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but this course is in bad shape. Extremely muddy. Hard to enjoy when you’re constantly trying to get mud off your ball…even in the fairways. I wouldn’t recommend this course if there has been any rain in the last week…it just doesn’t handle it well.
Staff were super friendly and the other players were courteous so there is that.

Avoid
Course is in poor shape. Fairways and greens are missing lots of grass, sand traps have no sand and cart paths are in horrible condition. Put some money back into the course or turn the land into apartments. The layout is good but it needs lots of help. Cart staff acted like she would rather be anywhere but at a golf course. Overall not a good experience.

Gone down hill
5 years ago this was my home course. Went back for a nostalgia round… things have really gone down hill. Pretty much everything except the clubhouse needs work. Greens half chewed, fairways need makeover sink holes everywhere, cart paths need replacement, tee boxes are lucky to have grass, carts are trashy. Pace of play was very slow due to inexperienced golfers. It seemed like there was a large amount of brand new golfers out there who didn’t understand pace of play or proper etiquette.

Course condition
Course condition is worst as if playing on dirt.
fairways are very very dry needs lots of watering.
greens are not smooth, lots off rough patches

Okay overall
This course was OK. One of my biggest complaints is that with the crumbling, cracked cart paths and multiple ditches/depressions on every hole it literally felt like we were off-roading in Sedona, AZ when we were driving the golf cart.

Course has gone downhill
This use to be one of my favorites courses. Played today and greens were overly sandy, Some of the tee boxes were beat up pretty good. The carts paths are in horrible shape and the fairways felt like you were driving on the cart paths. This course needs to shut down and redo many things to bring it back to what it use to be

Great layout
Great layout, a course with a lot of character.. love the challenge it provided with, water and bunker hazards and all kinds of slopes and elevations.
Will play there again even though it's a bit of a drive for me.

Goat ranch
First time playing and will be my last. I’m on hole 10 as I’m typing this and I haven’t played this bad of greens in a while and the DFW public courses aren’t one for having high expectations anyways, but this place is so rough. Driving on the cart paths is like driving on the Himalayan mountains.
