About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Not so great (Winter Review)
Like it says in the title I am absolutely taking into account that it’s winter.
The course is in pretty rough shape in general. For $60 I would expect a lot better.
The greens are all scuffed up. 100 ball marks on every green, old holes no where near being flush or grown back in, really tough to make a putt.
Fairways are ok, it’s winter so there isn’t much expectation here. But don’t try and drive your cart down the fairway. You’ll get beaten up pretty bad with all the bumps. Oh and don’t try and drive on the cart path either, looks like the streets of Ukraine.
Tee boxes, wow. These are bad. Almost like they haven’t moved the tee markers in 2 months. Nothing but sand anywhere. Again I understand it’s winter, but other courses have this figured out and aren’t charging $60.
Maybe a weekday course or twilight or possibly a coupon would get me back. But I’m not paying weekend rates at this course again.

Absolutely dreadful
When I checked in they failed to even mention they were 1 hour and 20 minutes behind schedule. The course was a disaster. The cart paths are worse than Texas road construction. They acted like the pace of play being 6 hours wasn’t a big deal. Horrible carts. Our cart hardly ran and had tears in the seats. The fairways had giant cracks and were repaired poorly. It’s worse than driving in a corn field. Also the management told me to go pay $115 on another course to have just as bad conditions instead of offering my money back. At the end of the day I wouldn’t recommend this course nor pay $78 dollars for it. The quality is horrible.

Great besides no water
I understand why you guys took away the water jugs because of Covid concerns but it is now July 2023... can we re instate the water jugs?

Great greens
Played in January so the course wasn’t in the best shape, pretty much all of the bunkers were unplayable. The greens rolled really well though. Tight course and lots of water. I would imagine it is much better in the summertime if they fixed their bunkers.

Not as bad as some reviews say, but it’s not excellent.
After reading a lot of the reviews here I didn’t have high expectations but not everything is bad.
What is good? The staff are friendly, the pro shop is pretty well stocked, the layout is challenging but not unfair (there’s water in play on most holes), the drink carts are decently stocked.
The not good: the car paths are in rough shape and the back none are in big need of repairs. The greens are the only place that is green and or the most part it’s paint, some fairways have several prominent washes carved out from water drainage, the gas carts are very out of date and my cart was a little in reliable.
The middle: price, it could be a little lower for the conditions but I know most courses aren’t making huge profits so the price is fair.

Really bad shape right now
Course needs alot of work. Greens were in really bad shape. If they can fix the fairways and greens it could be a decent course.

Don’t go here
I have to believe the 4 star reviews for this place were from years ago. This course is not worth the weekday rate on a weekend. Bunkers were fill dirt not sand. Cart paths seemed to have been hit by large earthquakes. Greens are spray painted green and we’re poor in proportion to fairways. No drink carts on course. The nicest part of this place was the bathroom. Go somewhere else!

Fairways Destroyed
Fairways are in really bad shape. Not only is the grass either dying or dead in most spots but there are also so many holes and bumps. Carts are old. Tee boxes are concrete.
Listen, the green fees are cheap and your expectations should always be tailored to that. But it was still a bit shocking nonetheless.

It's in the worst shape
Fairways are really rough. The golf carts are old - torn seats, no phone chargers. The cart path is all broken & uneven concrete. Its a rough ride no matter what part of the course your on. The fairways reminded me of mini ski moguls. The greens were all spray painted green. Most of the tee boxes are uneven or sloping to one side. We paid $38 on a Friday before noon & that was a hot deal w/ a $10 off coupon. None of my foursome wants to play there ever again. We are taking this golf course out of our rotation . We play almost every Friday somewhere in DFW

Greens are good
Most of the Golf courses are doing temporarily maintaining after heavy raining or storms.. used water pumps to removes waters at fairways or to the moving cart paths to the safe driving by player's...
Please considered these for next rain storms.

Scroll Past This One
Super friendly clubhouse. Pace was decent. Rate could be lower for the course conditions. I counted 18 water logged fairways. Severely water logged. Looked like a combo of rain and sprinklers. Trash decorated every whole, some out right shameful. Cart paths are a safety hazard. Seriously. All of them. First and last time for me. I advise you golfers that haven’t played it to not create a first experience.

First Round Here in Several Years
I made a last minute decision to play here on 12/4/22 after finding a Hot Deal on Golf Now. I did not read any reviews prior to playing. I used to play here frequently back in the 90s, and at that time I remember it always being in good shape. Unfortunately it is no longer in good shape. The fairways were terrible even considering the grass has gone dormant. The cart paths are cracked and almost unusable in spots. I had to detour to the grass or dirt on most holes to avoid the craters in the cart path. And there were multiple holes with irrigation leaks and I guess you would call it ground under repair (if not definitely in need of repair). I lost a couple of balls in the puddles on the fairway on a few holes when I hit a good drive and when I went to find my ball it was no where to be found. Either plugged or was submerged enough not to be able to see it. I will not be going back.
