Riverchase Golf Club

About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Should not allow golfers on course
They charged $60 per player.
Severe damage to course from floods, water line breaks.
Cart paths look like Neirut - broken, eleven, destroyingbtheir carts & tires and golfers kidneys.
Mud trenches on many holes due to water leaks . Most holes have zones if dried up mud (sediment from flooding.)
It is not fit for play, which is why we played in 3.3 hours -there was nobody there!
Give this a big miss.
Overall, poor
The cart path is so incredibly bad, I’ve never seen anything like it. The bunkers are so poorly maintained, they aren’t even filled with sand, it’s all weeds and dirt.
The fairways have cracks and holes from being dried out. The greens have so much debris and sand, it felt like a mini golf course.
We were also told at check in there were going to be a cart girl or concessions cart, there never was.
There wasn’t even the common courtesy of water stations out. This is Texas, it’s hot out!
With so many other courses around to choose from and with similar prices, I will never play here again until things change
One of the worst in DFW
First time playing Riverchase and it will be the last. All of the other recent reviews are correct. This course is in horrible condition and was $65!
When we arrived, the starter on the first tee warned us about the terrible condition of the cart path. Broken, cracked and missing big chunks of concrete throughout. Pretty treacherous. The fairways and tee boxes were saturated beyond belief with water and we haven’t had rain in weeks. Standing water on the tee boxes, and in the fairways that had created kind of marshy stagnant areas. There were also large fissures and cracks running through most of the fairways like dried out riverbeds. I’m not sure how you get both conditions on the same course. Until we saw a sprinkler head near one of the tee boxes that appeared to be cracked and was just overflowing. All of the bunkers are marked Unplayable and have been neglected for a long time. The greens were ok but dyed green. There was trash all over the course. When I mentioned to an employee inside about the standing water they said well maybe it’s the weather conditions. What a joke.
I spoke to another employee about the conditions and the price he was kind of rude. He defiantly asked “where else are you going to play for under $65 on a weekend?” I’ve got this app and can pull up a dozen courses in the area that are far superior to this one for about the same money or even less. Needless to say will not return to Riverchase golf course. They vastly need an influx of money for a redo.
Disappointed
We had not played this course in a couple of years. The course had always been in good shape in the past, but this time the course was in terrible condition. The fairways have big cracks throughout, and the greens are some of the worst to try and putt on. For the price and condition of the course, this will be the last time we play this course unless they make some huge improvements.
Makeover Needed
They have a nice tract but need to invest a lot of money in the grounds, tee boxes, caet paths, and bunkers. As is, it is way over priced.
Let’s get to work
This course has a great layout, challenging holes, nice water features, but is in terrible condition right now. It is situated in an affluent community and can do well but requires a huge investment. Bunkers were completely out play, the tee boxes were not level and in poor condition, and the greens were slow but rolled acceptably. There was a slow twosome in front of us and they would not yield. It took us over four hours to play for a threesome on a Monday mid- morning. IPA beers on tap were a plus and the gentleman who poured them was very pleasant. There were no water coolers on the course or beverage service. You should pay $30 to play here and be provided with a bottle of water at the start and the turn of your round. The temperature got up to 90 degrees with no water on the course? Let’s get to work, Riverchase!
Big Cracks
You will need to go to the chiropractor are riding this course the fairways are in TERRIBLE condition.Greens are OK
$70 is highway robbery
How on earth do they charge $70 for this? Absolute atrocity. Can’t justify ever coming back after that price gouge.
Dont bother
This place needs some serious work to even be a decent golf course. Greens were okay at best and the cups were not even in the ground far enough….. Every fairway is extremely bumpy, patchy, and occasionally muddy. Saturday morning tee time, no cart girl. Grill closed. Staff super friendly and pace of play was great cause not many people were playing. Probably wouldn’t play it again and the greenskeeper actually needs to watch some youtube videos on how to cut cups this was just unbelievable.
Riverchace
I thought I was setting up a tee time for a different course. When I found out it was Riverchace I looked at the reviews. They weren't so good. When I played I was pleasantly surprised the course wasn't as bad as everyone said. The bunkers were still not in play. The course was tough for me. No drink carts on a hot day!
Course needs works
The cartpaths, fairways and tee boxes need some love - mowing, watering and to be redone. It was Sunday mid-morning and no cart service. Still a good value. Always slows down on the back 9.
You get what you pay for
Cart paths were so bad , even dangerous.
Course needs al lot of attention.
