About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Not that bad
This was my first time playing it and based on the reviews I was expecting a disaster. But for the price, it’s not that bad. I have played a lot worse. Again, 1st time so can’t speak to what it was before but I would play again.
Worst course in Dallas
Worst course I’ve ever played, will not go back again
Front nine was closed,back nine was in poor condition and greens are very bumpy and slow.
Not worth it
We were excited to come play this course however the excitement ended quickly. The front 9 was closed and the back 9 was in extremely rough shape large sand spots on the greens, fairways were the bumpiest I had ever seen. Ended up contacting golf now due to only playing 9 and playing full price
Average course
Greens and fringe were a bit unkept as well as tall weeds.
RIP
First round in a while, weeds are everywhere and going to seed, bunkers are not maintained and greens are getting bad with a fair amount of damage, sprinkler system is creating new swampy areas and fairway damage Very unfortunate. Use to be a nice course for the money.
Go somewhere else
Please do yourself a favor and look for a different course to play. Awful course conditions, they shut down the front 9, and kind of pricy for the value you get. 1/5 stars.
Worst conditions I've ever seen
Front 9 is flooded, back 9 is so overgrown and unmaintained I'll never go back. Shame because this course used to offer a decent value when maintained.
Stay Away
The absolutely worse conditioned course I have ever played on in over 50 years s as a golfer. Bottom of the barrel! Fairways were so bumpy it was like driving on the moon! I take that back the moon has to be smoother! And they were charging full price for only have one nine open, something they conveniently leave off Amy disclaimer for the course. And if you were on the fairway or was no different than being in the rough because they were that overgrown. Stay Away!
Poor upkeep
Just downright awful. No sand in any bunkers. Fairways are not cut, greens need to be fully redone. Stay away
Shut it down
This course needs to be shut down for a year and start from the ground up. This place is awful and in terrible shape. The fairways are not mowed and the greens are super long. Does this course even have a maintenance crew? Do not come here. Riverchase needs to shut down asap and get back to how they used to be 10 years ago.
