Riverchase Golf Club

About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

course has gone down hill on conditions
Fairway grass too long and ground is very bumpy. Cart paths are in terrible condition. Bunkers are unplayable. Greens were ok but were running probably a 4 or 5 speed.
Food and Beverage
Course was good price for 18 holes. Kitchen doesn’t offer much and the 2 times I have been here the beer cart girl is sick or didn’t come in. Do you are on your own. I don’t own the place but a chef and several cart girls goes a long way. But I will come back and just have to be prepared for this course.
Grounds crew is making efforts with course aesthetics but all the standing water has become a mosquito breeding habitat
Needs attention
The staff members were helpful and courteous. Like many other courses there are no water jugs. If it’s a hot day bring a cooler with water. No cart service either. The cart paths were horrible. They all need to be replaced. The fairways need maintenance. The traps need to be fixed and filled with sand because they are all dirt and weeds. It seems that there are some irrigation issues as water is collecting in several areas. If you are looking for a place to play but course conditions don’t matter to you then this will do. I think it’s a bit overpriced for the conditions.
Don’t waste your money.
I honestly don’t understand why they still charge you so much for a round when they give you the worst possible playing conditions and no amenities. Your $40-$50 would go so much farther somewhere else.
Course needs a lot of love
The course has some great holes and holds a lot of potential, but the level of care is very poor. Greens were awful and every bunker had 0 sand, all hard pan dirt. The most redeemable factor is the fairways all had decent grass. Could be a great course but until they give it some love, simply not worth the money.
Greens are rough, roughs are overgrown with weeds, bunkers are a science project, and fairways are a swamp.
Don’t waste your money
This course is actually awful. Weeds and grass growing in the “bunkers”. Standing water in the fairway, mind you it’s been up to 105 degrees everyday the last weeks so idk how that’s possible. Golf carts sputter and are janky. Fairways are decent on some holes and on others you’ll lose a ball just by hitting a good shot up the middle. This course was in no way worth the $40 that I paid to play.
No water!!
In the Texas heat you would think that a golf course would have water jugs at different points around the course, but here there were none!! Seems like a pretty easy and cheap thing to provide for you customers!!
Do NOT Pay To Play Here
Carpet fairways. Rough greens. Weed-filled rough. Rude staff.
Paying more than $20 for this course should be illegal. Save your money and play literally anywhere else.
Complete Disrepair
This place used to be a good deal but it's just not worth the price anymore. The course has aggressive bunkers that are in complete disrepair and unplayable. The greens are in terrible shape. The grill/bar were closed, so we were told to wait for the cart girl to come by for snacks/beverages. We saw her once at hole 17. The marshal seemed to be proactive about pace of play and enforcing cart rules. Pace of play wasn't terrible except for the backup caused by everyone buying stuff at the beverage cart.
The fairways and the front 9 stinks of sewage. I cannot recommend this course for half the price.
DO NOT PLAY HERE.
I have never gone Karen mode in my life until today. Sad to say as this course has potential to be great. Management is absolutely horrendous. They close their clubhouse at 6pm on a FRIDAY and left no water outside for any of the players. We played on a 98 degree day and had to run to the gas station mid round to get water. Bunkers have no sand just hard dirt. They should pay you to play here.
