Beautiful Course and views!
I love this course! Pricey if do not have Golf Pass but thank you Golf Pass for offering this course!!
Fantastic experience, tough track
Course was in excellent shape minus a few greens and a fairway. Very helpful staff and friendly starter. Played a 4:20 pace on a not too busy Monday. First time I’ve ever carded 3 birdies in one round.
Truly Eye Candy
The layout, and the views, and the conditions in June were terrific. If I get back to the area anytime soon, I would recommend going. It was much better than I expected.
Great Course
I played with my son while in Denver for a weekend. I found it on GolfNow and I saw it was highly rated. It wasn't cheap, $140 for 18 holes and a cart. But, it did not disappoint. We were paired with a couple locals who were very kind, a couple of sticks, and had great local knowledge of the course and surrounding community. There were many picturesque holes. Tons of elevation changes, very few blind shots (good course design), very deep bunkers - which I was told was previously the courses only shortfall, but they have all been redone and are great now. Greens had been sanded, but were still fast and rolled true, very playable. Ponderosa pines line the fairways on the back side and make for some intimidating tee shots, but the landing areas were generous and the ball flies forever at 6400 feet, so grip it and rip it!
Fantastic views!!
We decided to play while on a short vacation trip. Course and staff are awesome. Lots of great scenery and fantastic course layout.
Great Course but pace of play
I love this course it’s a difficult course that challenges every part of your game. However the pace of play was horrendous. I’m not a fan of 5 hours rounds, Definitely when its in the 90’s outside and you just sit while 3 other groups have to tee off in front of you, 3/4 of your way through your round. The Marshalls did come out and offer water and tried to move the groups along but what are they really going to do. 18 holes should never take more than 5 hours to play and we played it in 5:15 min. The only other thing and this was because I found this annoying was their carts. Constantly offering food and warnings about wildlife on their GPS screens which would constantly freeze and not work properly to get back to the “golf screen” So, at least our cart wasn’t working properly and seemed like it was about to die. Can’t say the same about other carts.
Nicest Course I’ve been to so far in Colorado
Everything was just right. Great conditions and friendly helpful staff. Course has good balance of difficulty. Loved it.
Great track
Great shape. Great track. Looking forward to playing again.
Love love love
Castle Pines Golf Club – Real Golfer Review
Castle Pines is what you imagine when you dream about the perfect Colorado round—immaculate greens, tree-lined fairways, and a layout that makes you feel like you’re in a private forest hideaway. This course is stunning, and the maintenance crew clearly treats the place like Augusta West.
Now for the truth: it’s been cart-path only lately, and if you’re walking more than playing, you’re not imagining it. Hope you wore comfortable shoes and didn’t skip leg day. It slows the pace and adds extra hustle between shots—so just be prepared.
On the upside, shade is everywhere. Unlike most exposed courses where you’re baking by hole 6, Castle Pines offers plenty of natural cover to keep you cool even on hotter days. That’s a huge bonus in the Colorado sun.
Cart girls? Scarce. If hydration (or swing juice) is important to you, load up early and again at the turn. Don’t rely on the beverage cart fairy—she’s probably on hole 17 and nowhere near you.
Pro tip: Order your food before hitting the 9th green. Timing is everything here, and placing that order early means you’re not waiting forever before heading back out.
Plus the free driving range balls are a plus!
As for the neighborhood feel—yes, there are houses around the course, but with how the trees and terrain are laid out, you’d have to really shank one to nail a window. If you do, congrats—you’ve got a great story, and probably a repair bill.
Bottom line: Castle Pines is a premium course. Even with cart-path-only restrictions and rare beverage sightings, it’s absolutely worth it for the views, the greens, and the atmosphere. Just come prepared, and it’ll be one of your best rounds of the season
Disappointed
Pace was terrible - especially for a Thurs. We call for a ranger and none came. I left after the 10th hole it was so bad. I was told on the 1st tee that it was cart path only ... and there was no reason for it. They had very heavy duty construction equipment ranging all over the coarse so why not carts. Should have been told BEFORE I even bought the round. I will never come back to this coarse. Many better choices for this cost.
Course was under constuction.
Course was under major reconstuction. Cart path only rule (which golfnow does not tell you!). I'm too old for all that walking, kinda ruined the experience of the course.
Terrible Experience
The staff here is aweful. They are much more concerned about the tournaments then those that are playing after. They said, sorry you will have to play the 1st 9 twice and when I asked why, they indicated we are working on out sand traps. Okay, but I was expecting to play all the holes and the response was too bad get your money back, but I couldn't because I booked through Golf Now! I will never go back and being a country club in Denver, this place is a disgrace. The bartender ladies were very nice, but I will never go back and they just lost my sons 1 of 3 places where we were going to do the wedding rehersal dinner for 70 people, but not now. The Avalanche organization should find somewhere else to go, they don't know what they are missing.
Great Golf at the Ridge!
Loved our time at the Ridge at North Castle Pines. We had a great time playing a challenging course, but got our steps in as the rules were "golf cart path only". The elevations gains and losses are extreme but that's what makes the course so interesting. Well worth the money.
Didn’t advertise cart only
I drove a long way and paid a lot of money to play a course that never advertised they would be cart only. The pace of play was terrible as the groups in front of us had to walk endlessly to find their balls instead of driving their cart to them. I got through nine holes and couldn’t stomach another nine. Will it play there again… great course, poor business practice.
