The Ridge at Castle Pines is an absolute masterpiece of Colorado golf. From the moment you step onto the dramatic elevated tees overlooking the Front Range, the jaw-dropping views of Pikes Peak and the rocky foothills steal the show. The Tom Doak design is pure genius—strategic, thoughtful, and perfectly woven into the rugged pine-dotted terrain with bold contours and fearless green complexes that reward smart play. Conditions are flawless every single time: firm, fast fairways and greens that run like glass. The routing feels adventurous yet fair, and the finishing stretch along the ridge is one of the most exhilarating closing sequences in the state. If you get the chance to play here, cancel whatever else you had planned—this course is bucket-list worthy and easily earns every one of its five stars.
Great time!
Wonderful round. Pace of play was brutal from hole 2 on. 5+ hour round. Other than that, course was in great shape and a great round
Great course.
Great course, scored a time on a deal. Not sure if I’d pay the full 130-210 for a tee time. But course was immaculate, staff was friendly. Challenging and beautiful holes
Course A+ Service D
I asked to have my own cart and was told I had to pay additional $25. I was fine with that but then I was given a gas one with no GPS. I already paid for a cart and then after paying double I received a lower grade.
Upon the turn after 9 holes, the snack bar was not open and we had to go to bar area (2pm on Saturday?). Pace of play was slow and saw ranger one time but never seemed to push the slow 4some ahead of us and guys behind us were hitting into us on 2 holes.
After 18 holes I parked cart by pro shop, gal asked if I would like my clubs cleaned (yes) I went inside to purchase some items. 3 young adults were visiting, workers I assumed, because of name tags. Never asked if I needed help or even acknowledged me.. I put down 3 items I had to purchase and left. When I went to my cart my clubs were still in cart and workers joking around . I carried my clubs to drop zone went and got my car pulled up (still. no help offered) loaded my clubs and left.
So disappointing because the course was enjoyable and the people I golfed with were pleasant but the customer service was definitely lacking. I get better service at my $75 city course back home.
5+ hour round
Love this course but the pace of play is ridiculous.
Saw a couple marshalls but they did nothing to help.
Had to quit at hole 16 for an appointment, round was already 4:45 at that point. Paid $143 and couldn’t complete my round.
A Local Fave
Bunker redesign looks great. Course was in fantastic condition this September. Lots of wildlife, deer, turkey, etc. The Ridge, Bear Dance,Arrowhead, are among my favorites on the south side of town.
Pace of play can vary on a weekend, recommend teeing off in the early mornings.
Lackluster
Don’t get me wrong, I had a good time playing here, but it feels like this course is cosplaying as a luxury vacation golf resort without the amenities to back it. The course itself was not particularly memorable other than one or two holes, the range was ripped to shreds to the point where I’d rather just hit off mats, and the pace of play was insufferable. 5 hour round, waiting at every tee box and no marshal to enforce the pace of play. There are several blind shots around corners, without much of a system of knowing when it’s OK to hit other than praying that the gps on the carts is up to date (hint, it wasn’t). So our group accidentally hit into the group ahead and we were also hit into several times. Overall, I would gladly play this course for $120-140 but I feel like $200/round is too steep for the experience, especially when there are gems like Murphy’s creek just down the road for $75.
Bobcat family on 14
Beautiful course, excellent staff, the right amount of challenge for me personally, and probably the most fun holes I’ve played all year. Only gripe was some slow play into a multi-group traffic jam on the last two holes that prevented me from finishing 18, but I started at 4:40 and went in not expecting to get a full round in. Mostly bummed because 17/18 looked pretty rad, and it seemed possible right up until that point. Also saw some bobcats on 14.
Over 5 and a half hours to play this course
The pace of play was horrendous. Two groups on virtually every tee box. Not a Marshall to be seen all day. When groups called in to the pro shop they were told “it’s been slow all day”….!?!? The course is a nice course and in decent shape…..but paying nearly $200 for this lousy experience does not even come close to being worth it. I will not try it again.
Five Hour and 10 Minute Round of Golf
The Ridge at Castle Pines is a nice course. Unfortunately whoever is managing the course has gotten a bit greedy and has raised the greens fees to over $200…..hence the value for money rating. The pace of play that is “on track” according to the cart display appears to be over 4 and a half hours….meaning you can play slow as heck and still be “on pace”. In addition we never saw a Marshall. On most tee boxes there would be 2 to 3 groups. It is a pretty area but standing around that much is tedious. I will not play here again.
