Staff
Michael/Policy. Booked initially via phone... not sure of person booked with. A group of 8 from Eugene came over to 36 holes in one day, finishing at links. The first group booked on tee off.com—- 10 cheaper. I called to get same rate a few minutes later ... was told by a Michael (poor communication) can’t do that rate. So we were told we had to play 40 minutes later to get better rate. Just felt better customer service to get us to play your course, and drive there from Eugene. Your course is not getting business in the afternoon. Course is unique and fun—- totally different and worth the drive—-I would do it more often during the summer. I do realized that you do offer great /fair rates. Pa— I bought a super cool hat still and spent 25 bucks because the starter got us out earlier. Customer Services 101. I’ll work there and show you. Starter was good ... excellent!
Florence Golf Links
The course was in good shape with fast fairways and sand traps in play on every shot. Great par 3's that were challenging and fun to play. The par 5's were reachable in two if you were playing down wind and playing into the wind made the par 5's, three shot holes. A great links course to play and the wind is in play on all shots. I had a great time playing the course and the staff was wonderful and accommodating to all visitors and players. I was pair with a great twosome and we had a enjoyable round of golf.
Down hill
The seem to have forgotten about the course and are building houses instead
Gone down hill
Been playing the course for 25 years. It is in the worst condition I have ever seen. Fairways are trashed, greens iffy, it’s like the became interested in building houses and forgot about the course. Bad value, not going back any time soon.
Terrific!
Another round at Florence Golf Links in the books!
While I didn’t shoot under par, the course was “under par!” Terrific from tee to green again, and everything between. The course was yet again, in fantastic condition and props to the grounds crew! A few pitch marks on a few greens (not course personnel to blame) - just some lazy golfers - but I fix any that I see. Try to leave it as good or better folks, it’s up to us to help to help keep these tracks in the best shape possible as well...
Steve and Sandy were as friendly as always, and it is always a pleasure to see them smiling and working hard to make it a great experience for their guests. New employee in the pro shop for me, but he got us checked in quickly and on our way to the practice facility. No waiting on CARTs, and they were very clean and performed great. Round took 3 hours and 45 minutes from first tee box to parking lot at the end of the round - even with letting two singles play through (one on 11 and one on 16) and faced with some constant moderate to high winds, with some seriously strong gusts. Showed 26mph at the highest.
Another 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 feedback from myself and the two others in our group, to all the employees who make this place great. Experiences like this will keep us coming back, making the 2 1/2 hour drive to play! Bravo to all of you!
If you haven’t played this course, do yourself a favor and play it - you will be glad you did! Some spectacular views, especially on 16,17 and 18 - but the front provides beauty as well.
Another TERRIFIC experience
Back for my fourth round at Florence Golf Links, and another phenomenal experience!
Chris in the pro shop, was friendly and fast checking us in, as he has been every time I’ve seen him when arriving. Steve and Sandy were incredibly friendly and did a terrific job cleaning up the CARTs and got them turned around and over to us quickly after players finishing their rounds were done with them.
The course was relatively busy, as there were several golfers on course and preparing to start their round - but it was not obvious once you were on the course. Pace of play was good. Our group had trouble on two consecutive holes (with some poor play/luck) and let a group play through to keep from impeding anyone. We then chased, but didn’t push those two groups - the pace of play continued to be solid. This time there was literally no wind (polar opposite to last visit). It really allowed to be more aggressive with drives and getting higher ball flight on approach shots. Have been able to implement two completely different styles of play now on the course and it’s interesting to see how that plays to strengths and weaknesses.
The course was in fantastic shape, as it has been the previous three visits as well. Honestly I thought that maybe this time the maintenance would show some signs of struggle - but boy was I wrong. Those folks are doing a seriously tremendous job keeping the course in amazing condition! Bravo to all!
Yet again, we drove 2 1/2 hours to get to the course and 2 1/2 hours to get back home - talked about the course and play the entire time. It’s great. I hope the staff gets to read this, and knows that the work they do is incredible and that the efforts do not go unappreciated by the patrons of your track.
To Nick, Chris, Steve and Sandy, Mike(missed seeing you this time sir) and the entire greens keeping crew:
5/5 - 10/10 - keep up the great work! Can’t wait to visit for the fifth time!
Second visit, fantastic again!
This was my second trip to Florence Golf Links. The course was in tremendous condition again. Honestly it is difficult to imagine how they can get in this good of condition, considering the personnel limitations that are currently happening with the global pandemic. 5 stars for the grounds keepers. Your work is fantastic!
The carts were again, same as last time, in ridiculously clean condition - you’d be forgiven to think you were taking the cart out on it’s maiden voyage.
The gentlemen working in the clubhouse took no time at all to check us in for our tee time, informed that they were right on schedule and was informative of facilities. While it was my second time, I invited my father along for his first visit to the course.
Mike was again, super friendly, and gave some advice on playing in the conditions today - it was SUUUPER windy. First time I’ve had to adapt a links style execution into the game. Had to keep the ball incredibly low trajectory - found out the hard way a few times what happens when you get a ball into the air with 20+ mph constant winds (I’d guess the gusts were past 30). I mean it was blowin’ folks. Ball would move while on the green at address.
Tee box 5/5
Fairway 5/5
Bunker 5/5
Rough 5/5
Green 5/5
Experience 5/5, 10/10, 100/100.
Seriously, can’t thank all the employees enough for their dedication to their jobs and facility. Can’t wait to come back for my third visit.
Side note, it is a 2 1/2 hour drive for me to play this track - and the experience is so good, that it could be double that drive time and I’d still visit.
Cheers
First round great course
This was my first visit to Florence Golf Links. My son had been here once before, and this time I joined him. We drove over 2 hours to get there and wasn’t disappointed!
Tee box, fairways, rough and greens were all in terrific condition! It was extremely windy, which made the round more challenging, but not less enjoyable! Sure the score increased, but the course was in terrific condition - you can’t blame wind on the staff. Also, I beat my son by 1 stroke, which made it all the better!!!!
Look forward to playing this course again, my son was correct, it was worth the drive to play! Kudos to all the staff, great work!

Super Course!
We have always loved this course for its beauty and layout. This trip the course was in the best condition it has been in the last 3 years. Yes, it’s windy in the afternoon’s but it is the Oregon Coast. Play it, you will love it.
Fantastic experience in all aspects
This was my first visit to Florence Golf Links, and it was absolutely phenomenal!
The staff, from pro shop to snack shack to cart staff to grounds keepers - 10 out of 10 - incredibly welcoming, genuinely cared about your happiness and obviously take tremendous pride in their work! Seriously, every course needs this level of effort from their employees.
During these trying COVID times, the crew has stepped up. The course was in terrific condition, and their grounds keeper staff is currently less than 5 people! Cannot imagine how much work is required - but they’ve done it and done it to top level! The CARTs all looked brand new, they were that clean, and operated great! The snack shack employee, she was so nice and a great engagement with customers before entering the pro shop - as was the employee who was handling the CARTs (I couldn’t place his accent, but he was incredibly welcoming and clearly worked hard to have his product in top form - he was also hilarious). The employee in the pro shop was very helpful with suggestions regarding the course, as it was my first visit. Provided information of facility location, things to look for on the course and a few tips that proved helpful in navigating the track.
I cannot wait to come back for a second round here, didn’t really want to leave after my first round. If I would have started earlier - would definitely have done a re-round.
10/10, 5 stars, great job everyone!
Great with Golfnow hot deal
Fun course, not sure I’d pay the $85 rate but had a great discount with hot deal. Fun links style course. Some areas a little beat up, but didn’t take away from the experience
Definitely a good oregon course option
