the course is challenging, but well maintained.
playing here is very weather dependent however
Amazing course, beware of the afternoon winds
We played this course at 1 pm and the front 9 was incredible. Beautiful views, well kept greens and spectacular golf. The back 9 was difficult as it was windy but that’s no fault of the course. Would recommend anyone in or traveling to the area to play here.
Tough
Really tough course!, but beautiful and great condition.Recommend playing in the early morning.
What happened??
This course use to be an all time favorite. Friends played it a couple of weeks ago and noted how wet it was. Haven’t had much rain since, but soggy in several places. Fairways just so so. Greens were in pretty good shape. Overall, the worse shape we have ever seen it. Maybe the new owners will take note and bring it back.
Great Layout
I thought that the course was great and the layout pretty awesome. It could be difficult if the it got windy. I enjoyed the golf course and would play it again if I was to return to Florence
Fun Course
The course is not in as good as condition as it used to be with the change in ownership. The off the rack price was a little expensive but if you can get a golf now hot deal it is worth it. The staff was really nice .

Great Links Course
If you can find discounted times on GolfNow, well worth it. Even if not, still worth the price. Beautiful dunes style links course but the wind is definitely in play. Way better than it's Florence counterpart Ocean Dunes.
Awesome Layout!
It’s been a few years since I played this course. (It was Sandpines back in the day.). To me, the layout And setting of the course makes it special. It was Feb so like most courses in the NW it wasn’t in its prime condition. That said, the fairways and greens were still in decent shape, making it a fun experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also got lucky with only light winds which makes this a much easier course. I will not wait so long next time to get back over to the coast to play it!
Better than Most
Florence Golf Links is the Gem on the Oregon Coast. If you like a challenging, but a fair round of golf this well groomed, resort like course , is for you.
You’ll find a comfortable distance for your level of play. Florence Golf Links offers 6 tee boxes with combined distances. You won’t be disappointed.
It plays well no matter the season.
nice variety
I have to agree with most of the other reviews. This course is in fine condition. Not too hard but still offers plenty of challenges even if it isn't windy. On my second round here the wind kicked up and wow, definitely upped the difficulty factor. One of the features I really like about this course is that the front nine is pretty traditional with trees lining the fairway and the back 9 is links-style. The staff couldn't be nicer. We just moved here so now I'm a local and very happy this is my home course.

Got here a little early, went to Pro Shop and great guy said I could go out early or have lunch...I said how about both!
After great service for lunch, went to first tee...before I tee’d off another single showed up and we played together. Finished round in about 3 and half hours!
Course is wide open and water only comes into a couple holes...I found two of them! :-)
I got a great rate and I don’t think it’s the toughest course...but I enjoyed it!
One of the best!
From the greeting to the goodbyes, it was truly a great time. Excellent service, nice course, great greens. Top of the line 19th hole. Could find nothing to criticize here!
Challenging links design
A great warm up for Bandon Dunes. Challenging design with several shots over water against the wind, light and fluffy sand that swallow your ball in the plethora of large greenside and fairway bunkers, elevated tee boxes, elevated greens, dog-legs left and right, and some tall pines that howl at you as the wind whips through. The course was challenging, but the wide fairways made it driver friendly for those who gotta let the big dog eat. Friendly service and the restaurant is top-notch.
