winter golf
Course was pretty dry considering the time of year. Had a great Time showing my son a oregon gem.only bad part was we caught up to some slow groups on last few holes while racing darkness. They seemed to think they were only ones out there. Foul mouthed and loud while we were putting on 17 as they were teeing off on 18.nothing against course but it amazes me how some pepole have zero class.
Great Day in November!
Played on a Monday- no one ahead of us-no one behind us. Weather was good, a little windy at times, and cool when it blew, but course was great. Greens had been plugged in the somewhat recent past, so putts were a little bouncy, but that is a necessary event. Still a great day on the Oregon coast in November
Awesome walk and golf experience!
I had a great time playing Sandpines Golf Links. I find it a very well designed course that penalizes bad shots appropriately, but leaves you with fair opportunities to recover. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. Staff were awesome!
Wow!!!
This is a follow up review. Was one of our favorite courses for 4+ years. Went downhill slowly. Under new ownership now. THEY HAVE PLANTED GRASS!!!! The fairways were totally coming back! No moving your ball around to find grass anymore. The greens were perfect. Maintenance was superb! This is a total gem people! Many holes are in the trees and it then opens to links style. Great change of pace. Yes, it can be very windy! Stop whining. Pretend you're in Scotland. We had PERFECT weather. Sunny, 68 degrees and 10-15mph winds. We used to play it 4-6 times a year before they went downhill. Tee off early to avoid any serious wind. It is in great condition right now and is it back on our calender. That Tom guy is just a super person and he took 25 minutes talking to us on the 4th hole about what we thought of the changes.

Very nice!
This is a follow up review. Was one of our favorite courses for 4+ years. Under new ownership now. AND, THEY HAVE PLANTED GRASS!!!! The fairways were totally coming back! No moving your ball around to find grass anymore. The greens were perfect. Maintenance was superb! This is a total gem people! Many holes are in the trees and it then it opens to a links style course. Great change of pace. Yes, it can be very windy, as some previous reviews have mentioned. Especially in the afternoon. Tee off early to avoid any heavy wind. We'll be back on a regular basis
Good layout
Good layout but the drought has made conditions
spotty in the fairways.
An excellent value course
The first hole can cause you to think you might want to go elsewhere if you are an intermediate player, but after that the course is more friendly with long straight fairways. Weather was spectacular, sunny, 71 degrees wind 5-10 in the midafternoon. shirtsleeves. Only real challenge were some bare patches on fairway apparently from weeding. Greens were overall in good shape with challenging putts. All in all well worth the time.
Windy and unfriendly
I arrived early for my prepaid time, yet the guy in the pro shop made me wait over an hour although the course was wide open. Then i had to pair myself up with a twosome(that's his job!). He told me if i found another single, we would have to share a cart(after I paid for a full cart) causw that is their policy....yet the twosome i paired up with had one bag of clubs they were sharing. Never have played a course where they let players share a bag. Course was in so so shape(lots of brown patches in fairways). Really disappointing after driving so far to play here...
Nice, but nothing special
Wide fairways. If you can stay out of the scary bunkers, you can score a good round here.
Could be better
Played here sometime back before the clubhouse. Course was not in the shape that I played last time. Looks like they had some disease on the fairways and reseeding on the greens. The greens were verticut and some top dressed but that's just the luck of the draw. The course still has an outstanding layout but like many courses budget seems to have cut back on the watering. On the day I played it was nothing to rave about but still a nice course.
Windy !!!!!!!
The wind never let up during our game and since it is near the dunes you get pelted with sand time and time again. There were a few holes taken over with sand. We were told its normal for windy conditions. 50 + mph not a good values at $65 per person.
Sandpines was fantastic
I've been playing Sandpines since it opened in 1993. I loved it then and I still love it. I got a great Hot Deal and added a cart at the course. The weather was phenomenal for summer. I played in the afternoon and it was sunny and warm with just a light wind. The course was in perfect condition and the course was not very busy. Maybe due to the fact that it is usually pretty windy in the afternoon this time of year. It was beautiful. Nothing bad to say other than a few 3 putts, but that isn't the courses fault.
This is a must play course on the beach in Oregon!
The course is beautiful! It is well maintained in a picture taking setting. It is challenging for many levels of players.
18 at the coast
fairways and greens in poor shape compared to past rounds here.
Going downhill
This used to be a great place to play. They now treat you like 2nd class people. A friend wandered around in the pro shop for 15 min. and NOBODY took time to speak with him? They were doing course maintenance on the fairways, which I don't mind and is to be expected. However, they sanded all the fairways, again OK, but punched 10 yds in front of the greens, They didn't sand in front of the greens? So, you couldn't putt or chip. The pub is overpriced and the food is at best average. I asked about the new course cam and the person looked at me like I was from Pluto. What course cam he said? They actually have one! Weak stuff. So sad. This ain't Bandon Dunes folks. And they act like they aren't just to prove it.
Sandpines!
First time playing this course in a few years. Greens were a little bumpy but overall pretty quick. Course was a little brown but the ball did roll out in most fairways...not many wet spots. A little more fairway grass would help with better contact. Still..an enjoyable place to play!
Beautiful Course
Sandpines is a great golf courses that gives your golf game a test but is also magically breathtaking. Just hope the wind doesn't kick up so you can attack some of the pines which are nestled behind lakes and bunkers.
A fine course in a small town.
One of my favorite courses. Pretty and drains pretty well in the wet winters out here.
Gorgeous course, great weather, perfect day!
Course requires accurate drives and layups. Difficulty lingers in the deep bunkers, beach grass and salal that border the fairways. Requires you to think before you hit. I started strong but a couple of errant shots in the middle holes caused me to lose my concentration and post high numbers. Stop, breath, and reassess your shots. It worked and I finished strong loving the final hole which gives you the opportunity to choose how much water you want to challenge. Greens were receptive and in immaculate condition. This off season experience allowed us to play without interruption from other golfers!
