My new favorite course!
Absolutely stunning course!!! Entire course and practice facility were immaculate. Perfect pro feel greens, huge open links with forgiveness but a challenge for off shots, stunningly large greens fast and challenging to read but perfectly challenging.
Definitely no mud problem, sand traps are beach sand super soft to hit out but not to many to be frustrating.
We had amazing weather with little wind, which is rare for the coast, but either way.
Can't wait to play this course again!
nice conditions
I played this course in late January. The weather was amazing for this time of year. 60 degrees sunny with a little wind. The greens were surprisingly quick. The fairways were dry and firm. The greens were a little tough to read since I hadn't played here in 30 years. All in all a fun course to play. Looks like it would be extremely tough if it was windy.
Excellent and great value
A great golf course with a nice variety of golf holes. Well worth a visit. Fantastic value
Exciting
I always enjoy visiting this course, I travel from New York to Florence twice a year to play this course with friends. It is a fun layout that needs various shot making to play. The course is always in good playing conditions. The clubhouse staff are excellent. I enjoy the food, drink and attention to detail so that you leave healthy and happy. I always enjoy playing the course and the 19th hole. It is exciting to find an all around great experience. Just look at the picture I attached and realize that it always looks like this.
It’s still very nice
Can’t imagine how glorious it was in its prime, I love the settings coastal pines and some rural feel to it but hurry new homes are being built near some fairways already. I had a great time!
Awful conditions for a $90 golf course
We played there today and I was appalled at the condition of the course. Living an hour away, I used to play here two or three times a year. No more. Huge expanses of no grass in the fairways…had to move the ball on almost every shot in order to hit. As a result I can’t honestly post today’s score on GHIN. Greens were OK, but Tee boxes and fairways were awful, really awful. Hard to believe that they’ve let this beautiful course go.
Very walkable
Loved the course layout, routing, pace of play, ability to walk, and friendliness of staff...all top-rated! My wife and I both very much enjoyed playing the course; we would gladly play it again. The greens are huge and were rolling fairly consistently. There was a lot of blotchy, dead grass on the fairways and around the greens; the tee boxes had issues but we could always find a small patch of grass for the tee. All in all, a good day on the links!
Now Florence City Golf Links
After missing last year we took the one hour plus trip to play the former Sandpines golf course. Sadly the nice course departed with the nice name. A tremendous downgrade. Bare spots in fairways ( disease?) all over. Weeds, not native grass, growing in sand traps. Tees were mostly bare ground. Greens not bad but course shows neglect big time. Rumor has it that real estate developers purchased it and some evidence of that with the unnatural encroachment near #8 green.
Sad as it was one of my top ten in Oregon. Will not play it again as it is.
Server Error
You guys faulted on my tee time.
THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY TEE TIME.
THAT SUCKED TO HAVE TO GO TO THE PRO SHOP AND CONFIRM MY TEE TIME.
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.
Beautiful course in sad decline
This has been my course of choice for a number of years. Always felt is was worth the hour and 45min drive from Corvallis. But this year I've noticed a definite decline in maintenance of the course. Initially I chalked it up to winter recovery. But after yesterday's round it's obvious that the current owners are not spending the money needed to maintain this wonderful Rees Jones track. From unmowed teeboxes to unraked sandtraps (many with grass and weeds growing in them) the course isn't worth the green fees they are asking. Until they get their act together I'll not be returning and I recommend others drive on by as well. Never thought I'd write a review like this of this course...sad.
Worth the trip
This ocean course is on par with other top rated ones without paying $$$$ This course has same wind. Just without the ocean view. I would play again
Another Great Deal from TeeOff/ Golf Now
An excellent course made more than excellent for the deal I got from TeeOff via my Annual Pass.
The course was in an excellent condition, especially since it’s a links course as I was expecting something less than what it really is. It’s undoubtedly affected by typical Oregon Coastal winds, occasional fog and of course the seasonal wet conditions, However there was no fog and no rain today but the wind was ever present which made for a less than optimal game for me. However, I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to those who don’t mind the wind as much.
So windy
Course was fun and challenging. A nice sunny day, but very windy typical of Oregon coast.
Layout a plus
Greens soft and slow, enjoyed the routing and layout, stout Par 3’s, 16,17,18 make this course!!
