Great greens!
Good layout and wonderful greens. The greens can be a little diabolical at times. But good test for your putting skills.
Best public course anywhere
Can't say enough about what a great golf course this is. Every hole is different and challenging and in great condition. My only issue is with the greens: there are virtually no flat areas for pin locations and between the severe slopes and speed (likely 13 on a stimpmeter), they are impossible to putt on. Augusta has nothing on this course. I'm a 6 handicap and three-putt my way around every time. They either need to slow the greens down, or find some playable pin conditions.
Too Difficult For Average Duffer
Everything about the course was top notch; however, the greens are so fast and steeply sloped that they are basically unplayable unless you are a professional or a local who plays it at least a couple times per week. Initially, our reaction was to laugh and say, "This is really crazy and is going to be super challenging." However, after about 4 or 5 holes, we stopped laughing and it was no longer fun. It's a super nice course, but not for anyone who doesn't play greens like these back home.
Good course for the money
Pretty good course good condition but pin placement was a bit rough, greens are slick when down hill and pin is at the bottom of the hill and next to impossible to stop it close but the course was nice and green
Green speed makes you wonder where the windmill and clown's mouth are.
I assume that when the course was designed (beautifully, years ago) the greens were not meant to run at at 13-20 on the stimpmeter. For instance I saw a well struck 4 foot putt roll 40 feet past a hole cut on a downslope and a 50 yard lob wedge hit 15 feet short and roll 60 feet past the hole. This basically made some holes unplayable. Nonetheless the actual layout, design and fairway conditions make this course worthy of a visit. And if you collect from your buddies for 3 putts you'll have a wonderful experience.
Worst experience in golf
Got to the 13 th green and a foursome drives by and tees up on the 14th in front of me. Went into club house after round and spoke to Brian and was informed they had a reverse shotgun of the duffers. Brian reeked of stale cigarette smoke and could have not given a darn about my concerns. I would avoid this course on days that they have there groups going out in a shotgun. No one including the foursome said a thing to me. Very rude and disrespectful from all. Sad because the course is okay but I won’t go back when treated like a red headed step child from other players and manager Brian. This place has no clue how to run a golf course. Shotgun start after an hour and a half of tee times have gone out is wrong on so many levels.
Fun to try
The course was a long way away from where we were staying. Liked the set-up and the course was in good shape. We noticed even with sand on the carts many didn't fill their divots. Didn't like no restrooms on course. We got rained out, but realize you can't control weather.
Don’t believe the staff about the improvements
I was at the course with my son and some friends. They raised there prices and said that they had made improvements to the course. The greens are still the same crappy greens they have had for two years. Would not recommend any one go play this course , save your money and go play brushy mountain , pudding ridge or silo run.
Longest six holes of my life!
Pace of play was atrocious. We quit after six holes. Two hours to get to that point. Too bad. The course was beautiful and in great shape for after the rains. Cart kid was awesome! Book your tee time first so you can play at your own pace.
