Great Course for the location

Had a fun time here. Pleasantly surprised with the course due to location. Nice layout and fairways and greens were in good shape. No beverage cart which was a disappointment but other than that great course. Will be back here again next year.

Great staff!

Thought it was a super friendly course and was able to let people play ahead while we’re still a beginner group. I thought course layout was good and it was an enjoyable afternoon. Maybe don’t pick a later tee time if you’re newer and may not make the entire 18 holes in time allotted… we only got through 11 holes.

Great golf course

The pro that greeted me was a very personable guy.

Fairways looked like plush greens. Almost every hole had a fabulous view. The only negative was the regulars not fixing divots. I used up my sand and seed filler in 4 holes just trying to fill in all the holes that the irresponsible people ignored.

The greens were also in great shape except for the countless divots.

I’ll will make this course my go to.

Hidden Gem no more. 😞

I love this course. Usually drive up from valley few times a summer to play. The final 3 holes are awesome. Was in great shape.....but, the shine is gone.

Staff seem super stressed. Found out they've had an influx (my words...not thiers) of entitled influencer types. Cart damage issues, minor course damage.

The club house is quaint, but dated. Old school charm.

Disappointed by the Staff’s Attitude Despite a Memorable Trip

We drove over 2.5 hours from our hometown to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday with a group of 16 friends, and one of the main highlights of our weekend was golfing at Elephant Rocks. We had 11 golfers and 5 riders who were all excited to spend the day together on a beautiful course.

We booked our tee time well in advance and even called the course beforehand to make sure everything would be in order for a group our size. My boyfriend personally spoke with a staff member over the phone, explaining that we would have extra riders and would need extra carts. We were told it would not be an issue and that they could accommodate us. We did everything we were required to do ahead of time to ensure things went smoothly, including communicating clearly and respectfully before arrival.

Unfortunately, when we arrived to check in, we were met with an entirely different tone. The manager was immediately rude and dismissive. He denied that any staff member could have possibly approved extra riders, laughed at us, and said, “That’s ridiculous,” in a condescending tone. This was not only unprofessional, but completely unnecessary—especially considering we were calm, respectful, and spending nearly $1,000 in green fees alone.

Despite the uncomfortable start, we remained positive. We played on time, followed all the rules, and respected the course. The scenery and layout were beautiful, and we were excited to enjoy our day. Unfortunately, the lack of hospitality didn’t end there.

After our round, we went to the clubhouse restaurant with a group of 15. The dining area had very few other patrons, and we took it upon ourselves to push a few tables together to accommodate our group. From the moment we sat down, the server seemed visibly annoyed by our presence. Some of our friends were met with eye rolls or sarcastic laughs when placing drink orders. I personally ordered a mimosa and was laughed at. When one friend ordered shots and politely asked for them to be put under his name, she responded, “I don’t know who that is. You guys are killing me.”

Another friend waited an extra 30 minutes for their food, and when we politely asked about it, the server responded by holding her hands about two feet apart—gesturing to show the size—and said, “The grill is this big, OK? You have to give them time.” It was said with a tone that felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude, despite how patient and polite we had all been.

This golf course experience was supposed to be the highlight of my boyfriend’s birthday weekend. He was so excited to have all his friends together in one place, checking everyone in with a huge smile and ready to enjoy the day. Sadly, the attitudes from both the manager and restaurant staff dimmed that energy. It was disheartening to see him so excited only to be met with rudeness that was completely unwarranted.

We were not disruptive, disrespectful, or demanding. We traveled far, spent a lot of money, communicated in advance, and made every effort to be easy guests. And yet we left feeling like we weren’t welcome.

I truly hope the management team takes this feedback seriously and addresses how large groups—especially ones who go out of their way to be respectful and prepared—are treated. Hospitality matters.

2 types of play

Original holes, now 1-4 and 15-18, run through pine forest and mountainous tracks. The added 9 holes are across the street and I. Housing development are flat and wide open. This gives the effects of two different types of golf course. The greens were well cared for and fast. Nice play but slow!
