Beautiful scenery
Best course I’ve played in AZ. Great course to beat the heat from the valley, and beautiful scenery with soft turf. Very forgiving course and being at 7000’ makes the ball fly way further
Great Experience
This was the second time I played this course. The first time was rained-out and only got in 8 holes due to rain. Being from out of town, I promised to come again and finally did. We got in a full round and was amazed at the condition of the course. The greens were fast and tricky to read, and the fairways and greens were in great condition. A great public course in the Grand Canyon / Flagstaff area. Will certainly play here again.
Short of expectations!
I had heard good things about this course and was excited to play it. While it’s not a top tier tract from a condition standpoint, the tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good shape. With a friendly and accommodating staff, except for it’s no cigar policy.
I asked if it was because of dry summer conditions and was told it was just course policy. Cigars and golf go together, especially on the open fairways. Because of this arbitrary rule, I will not return.
Guys weekend
Course was in excellent shape!
Good times had by all!
Slow, mediocre at best
Greens were fine. Fairways avg at best. 60-70 balls range balls on the putting green upon arriving. Behind two super slow groups. Ranger never said a thing.
Front desk says, ‘that’s how it is here Fridays and Saturdays.’
Tight Track
Lined by trees hitting the fairway is a must. Course was in great shape. The greens were prefect with subtle breaks and moderately fast. The 18th hole a 200 yard par 3 from the white tees is listed as the easiest hole on the course. It plays way down hill but still playing over 170. Only one of us parred it. It is a beautiful hole.
Golf carts
Just a suggestion
Perhaps an upgrade on the carts is in order
Hidden Gem
How many times have you sped down I-40 and missed this gem tucked back in the pines just west of Flagstaff? For me, too many. But I’m glad I finally took the time to play this track. Be on your tee ball game here or you’ll be knocking it out sideways a lot. And good luck on the greens-they’re in great shape, but can be tough to read both speed and break. Great staff and plenty of room to warm up as well. If you don’t enjoy this one, it’s your own fault!
Enjoyable weekend
Beautiful weather and beautiful course. Not a bad lye on the fairways and grass grass. Just stay out of the pine trees. Greens were 10 of 10. Enjoy playing here every summer.
