Not pairing singles and doubles
1st off, I love this course. 4 trips from East Mesa tells you something. It was in great shape.
Only issue, a minor one. Lots of singles and doubles. I was paired with an amazing group, so it's a mixed blessing because we got to spend more time together.
Anyway, on pace for a 4hr round. Since we were a 4some, we were asked to let singles and doubles play through. Being polite (and enjoying the company) turned my round into closer to 4.5 hrs ish.
Not an issue, just an observation about starter control
AMAZING
This place is a true gem!!!!! Words couldn't explain how magnificent this course is.
Beautiful course
The course was beautiful. There was some soft areas (watery) and a couple of traps still had water in them (I think they had rain the day before). Definitely would play this course again.
Amazing course
Must play if in the area. Value for money may be the best ever. Great track
Elephant Rocks was a hidden gem.
Great lay out and challenging distances for average golfer. Pristine conditions and fun to play.
Awesome course
Course is always in great shape and friendly staff.
Top 10 place in AZ
If you don't like this golf course, we can't be friends. Just gorgeous with a history to match. Definitely one of my favorite places to play.
Great course
Wife and I had a great time golfing Elephant Rock. Up in the cool pines, the whole course was green with a few deer and fawns passing through. We were told the last 3 holes were the toughest. We weren't disappointed with anything. In fact, we were asked to slow down a little and enjoy golf without being rushed. What a change of pace the was. Everyone is friendly. The price is right and inviting. Take your time playing. Had a wonderful experience on a great course.
Beautiful scenery
Best course I’ve played in AZ. Great course to beat the heat from the valley, and beautiful scenery with soft turf. Very forgiving course and being at 7000’ makes the ball fly way further
Great Experience
This was the second time I played this course. The first time was rained-out and only got in 8 holes due to rain. Being from out of town, I promised to come again and finally did. We got in a full round and was amazed at the condition of the course. The greens were fast and tricky to read, and the fairways and greens were in great condition. A great public course in the Grand Canyon / Flagstaff area. Will certainly play here again.
Short of expectations!
I had heard good things about this course and was excited to play it. While it’s not a top tier tract from a condition standpoint, the tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good shape. With a friendly and accommodating staff, except for it’s no cigar policy.
I asked if it was because of dry summer conditions and was told it was just course policy. Cigars and golf go together, especially on the open fairways. Because of this arbitrary rule, I will not return.
