Good illustration of how tight this course plays. The 11th tee. Fairway not 20 yards wide. Forty foot elevation change to green. Miss the fairway and lose the ball. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 12/01/2017

Challenging course
Read tough reviews after booking hastily, Thanks for the honesty other reviewers!
Knowing we were going to a challenging track in need of some tlc, I hope it gets it. Price we payed 45$ each for 18 with a cart should have been 30$ with current condition but if we don’t put the money into the course it can’t improve…hope the owners do the right thing, be back next year to see!
Very tough. Too expensive for the course conditions though
Very challenging and fun course. Greens were pretty bag. Foreign grasses and super fast. Very very narrow fairways.
Closed
The course is closed. So don’t waste your money trying to play here. Looked like it could have been a good course in its day.
Heatherwood Poor Conditions
The greens, tee boxes and fairways were all neglected.
Gut punch
If you’re hitting them straight and want a challenge, this course will give it to you. Hitting to numbers, less than driver off the tee, and blind shots were plentiful. This is a very narrow course. Bring plenty of balls. The cart’s GPS was broken and the course yardage markings are not the clearest so grab a rangefinder or GPS app as well. I can see having more fun on the 2nd or 3rd round here but several times as a first-timer on the course I was hitting at a line without knowing if it was going to be good or not. If you are a Beginner golfer, I think playing this course would be a frustrating experience so keep that in mind. If you are an A player, this is an interesting challenge. It’s not a long course but guards itself very well against being overpowered.
Range is Irons Only.
Not boring
Fun and challenging course. Good deals through Golf Pass. Not a good value at full price.
Potential
The course is intriguing because you must hit a club other than driver on many holes, and it has promising potential if only a couple of issues were resolved:
1. Figure out a solution for the weeds & crabgrass on the putting greens
2. Assign a staff member to rake the bunkers at the beginning of each day
PINPOINT ACCURACY NEEDED
Unless your game has pinpoint accuracy, and you have an "eagle eye" for spotting your ball, you'd better bring a LOT of patience and a LOT of balls. Most fairways are hilly and narrow, thickly wooded on both sides, many having at least one fairly steep hill and/or a sharp dogleg turn. The fringes and rough are super deep, meaning if you miss the fairway, you're 50/50 at best finding your ball, even if off "just a little." Greens are "ok." The hilltops provide some beautiful views if you can set your game expectations low enough to enjoy them. I won't be back soon.
