Quail Creek would be a very nice course if the greens and fairways were in better condition.
Mowing
Course needed mowing. 1st cut and fairway blended together.
TeeOff & Golfnow members - BEWARE!
Course conditions: Interesting layout, good pace, rock-hard tee boxes, slow greens (many w damages), horrible types of grass that you could lose your ball in the roughs easily, sometimes even in fairways (no joke).
Been playing here almost every weekend for the good part of this year. Played this past Sunday and had an experience that says never again.
Checked in like usual, and mentioned that I booked via TeeOff. It was a full-bearded, older "gentleman" behind counter (normally younger staff), probably the manager. He looked around and handed me a key to a blue cart. Their carts are normally white.
I proceeded to the cart and it was absolutely dirt and had plenty of spider webs. Seeing the conditions, I went back to him and asked if I could take one of their normal cart instead. He sternly said no.
I proceeded with the cart and tried to load my golf equipment. It was so gross that I couldn't bear to even load my towels, etc in the basket. I then proceeded back to him and nicely asked again, explaining the situation.
What came next was a shocker - he tossed a cart key to the ground in my direction! While shocked, I picked it up and proceeded to take one of the normal carts. As I was driving to my car, he yelled at me "TAKE THE CART # THAT MATCHES THE KEY!", something which he did not even mention at first.
This is the most unprofessional/disrespectful person I've ever encountered on a golf course. Worse yet, I believe he is the manager there. Needless to say, I will be a customer no more. If you play here, hope you'll have better luck.
Fun Course
The fairways are most of the time not cut but tee boxes are level and the greens are soft. Now they are very slow off the putter. Has nice scwnery and changes of elevation
Friendly staff at quiet country course
Staff was welcoming and accommodating upon my arrival. The course was what you'd expect from a rural golf course - pretty good greens and tee boxes. Pace of play was good as course was not very busy. Good value for beginners and average players.
Walk in the woods
Course is laid out a, peaceful wooded landscape. A few greens are in disrepair but otherwise this is one of the best values in the region. Rarely crowded, so one can time to enjoy the great outdoors without worrying too much about the pace of play. Staff members are always friendly and courteous. Had a pleasant experience overall — except for the eagle opportunity that I botched on hole 17!
Nice Course, Friendly Staff
Overall nice track! I got a good deal on GN and drove 1.5 hours to play. Friendly guy in pro shop. Greens in overall good shape. Course was cart path only due to recent rain, but this didn’t affect play much. There was a cluster of groups behind a slow group of 4-5. That was my only complaint. Will play again!
Retired for Golf
The Quail Creek greens are the best that they have ever been. I enjoyed playing there today and shot a 75 which is only 3 strokes over my age. I hope to shoot my age one day.
Great Staff, Nice people, good course
The combination of a very friendly and helpful staff, great fellow golfers who were both friendly and courteous golfers, perfect fall weather, and a very good golf course in good condition for a late October round made for a perfect day on the golf course for my family and I. This is my first time at Quail Creek, but I'll definitely be back. I would strongly recommend this venue for a relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle.
Hot day
The course has some very interesting holes that require some local knowledge. Greens putt much too slow. Fairways have way too much yard grass mixed in. Many of the tees were being resiodded and they needed it. Because of the tee situation, I was unable to get the full effect of the course from the tips. This started with the very first hole. Also, some of the yardages on the card are just not present on the course. Two examples are numbers 5 and 16. Both are par threes. Number five is listed at 215 and number 16 is listed at 152. I can assure you those tees do not exist.
