Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Oak Harbor GC
Fairways were tall but area has had a large amount of rain recently which made for real tough shots. Rain drainage has caused several medium size sink holes that of course several of my drives found. The greens were fabulous, best I have played in the area. Hopefully once weather gets better they can fix things. Great course.
Very good public course…
Needs a little work, rough extremely high but weather has made cutting difficult lately. Overall good shape, greens slow, but true. Staff is wonderful!
Love Oak Harbor but bring lots of balls
Love this course but it will punish you if you are new or mess up your tee shot. Lots of water and tall grass to lose your ball in. Friendly staff, the pace of play was decent. This round was a very hot day, our fault for booking a noon tee time in June. The starter was nice enough to let us start 20 mins early. Still very hot. Had to drink lots of water.
Course conditions
Oak harbor was probably the best course in the area 4 months ago. It has gone south since then. Fairways have holes everywhere. Rough has not been maintained and has areas 8-12 inches. Don't hit it in the fairway and you have a 25% chance of finding your ball. I hope they begin to maintain the course because it was our favorite
severely overpriced for the condition
Golf course wasn’t in great shape, but I would have to say the greens were. i’m not sure that the roof has ever been cut this year.
The golf cart I got kept stalling on the cart path, and the top of the golf cart shook the entire time and almost fell off. lots of kids and people playing on this course with no regards to other golfers. Very very slow pace of play.
lots of water creating a difficult but very fun challenge
Oak Harbor
Oak Harbor is one of the best values and tracks in the New Orleans area.Unfortunately,I chose a day that had multiple rain delays and ultimately a rain check.I would play Oak Harbor any day ,the greens are always consistent and roll very true.I would and do recomend Oak Harbor to all my friends.
Got a hot deal, not worth it if not
Course is not well taken care of. Seems as if they neglect everything outside of a fairway. Tee boxes are awful and greens aren’t much better. Our cart would randomly shut off and was about to fall apart.
Oak Harbor Golf Course
This is very challenging course that makes you focus on playing ur best possible game to score a decent score. I love the challenges it brings. Really makes me work on my game.
Great deal!
Best bang for buck in the area. Spring has been very kind to this course, in much better shape than it was over the winter. Freshly rolled greens were a pleasure to putt on
Pleasant Outing
We enjoyed the course very much. It was beautiful and moderately difficult. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Beaver
Fairways desperately need water in a bad way. Try keeping the place up like you actually care! Edging, trimming, etc. You have a nice property on your hands and it looks like it is getting away from you!
