Bayou Oaks City Park North Course
About
Golf has been played at City Park since 1902 when the nine-hole New Orleans Golf Club opened. At the time it was one of only 80 golf courses in the country. There were four 18-hole courses at the complex before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The North Course was rebuilt in 2009 and now there is also a 36-hole mini-golf complex. The course is just over 5,400 yards from the back tees and features water on eight holes. Proper club selection is the key to scoring well on this layout. The golf course is popular among both locals and visitors because it's not only player friendly enough to accommodate all skill levels but its location is also easily accessible from anywhere in New Orleans. The affordable rates make it even more appealing and there's also a 74-stall driving range.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2021 #23)
Reviews
Typical Muni
The course has potential but it is definitely the “B” course and cared for in such manner. It is priced to encourage walking but there are no walking trails from the tee box forcing you to either walk on the cart path or in foot tall grass.
They also ran out of push cart so that was a bummer.
Other than that, you get what you pay for. The starter was friendly.
Bring your hydration
The course has one igloo jug on each nine holes. Both were empty by 5pm. No one passes by with refreshments. Can be dangerous during the summer months.
Great Course for Price Paid!
Even though there was standing water on several fairways. The course was in pretty good condition. Most of the greens were really slow.
Would be nice to have cart girl around more. Finally showed up on North Course around 3:45. We started at 12:30. It’s the restaurant problem. Probably make more money on south.
Had a great time though!
Love playing North Course!!!
Solid, well kept Muni
Course layout is short, simple, and wide open, with the only challenges being the canopy of spread out oaks. The greens are slow and flat, but well maintained. Likewise, the fairways are mowed properly. Not much water or OB, which gives you lots of scoring potential from outside the fairway. A good low penalty, flat course to work on your game improvement and confidence.
Indy
Pace of play was very slow with inadequate players. The weekend is not the time to play because of the slow play.
If you can play during the week, that’s the time to play.
Didn’t play, wrong tee time date booked
I’m hoping to get a credit for the missed tee time. I wanted Wednesday and was booked for Tuesday and didn’t realize to issue in the confirmation E-mail.
Fun track
Fun track great layout, lits of room for driver, greens n good shape but a little slow
Solid, low cost muni
Course layout is short and doesn’t punish bad shots off the tee but will require you to hit more stingers from under the large oaks. Greens are slow, but maintained and flat. Fine for working on game improvement
Good Course for Game Improvement
Course has a straightforward layout, with open fairways and well kept, flat greens. Bunkers are few but maintained well. Lots of mature trees will force you to hit a lot of low liners when off the fairway. Not challenging, fairly short, but just fine for people trying to improve.
Best Value in Nola
Course in good condition for the value! Really unbeatable in terms of cost around New Orleans. Yet to play Joseph Bartholomew though.
