Great Value
Bartholomew is our go to course in NOLA during April. The course is in pretty good condition and the price is great.
Country Club Public
The Big Easy has never been so better exemplified by this course and the staff. From the check in, to the starter, the cart girl, and the greens staff. “Just enjoy yourself” as they would say. You’ll be glad you do too.
The overall course is in good shape. The greens are in fare shape. Staff is always friendly and very helpful.
Great Home Course
I live 20 minutes from here and my son(10) and I have been wearing this course out. If you’re a beginner, or trying to get back into golf, you can beat Joe Bartholemew.
If you’re expecting Master’s level greens keeping or TPC Sawgrass difficulty level, go pay $200 a hole somewhere else.
If you want to keep your money and have a blast, come see Joe B.
Also, Mr B is awesome. Just bring him your keys back when you’re done w the cart.
10/10. See yall next weekend.
Greens
The greens are atrocious. Patch work looks like 5yr Olds tried repairing the greens. Now you have poanna grass growing in amongst the Bermuda. Now the ball bounces like putting on a plinko board. Fairways not much better, half grass, the other half dirt. Tee boxes mostly dirt. Overall, course in urine poor condition.
Fun course but needs work
I’ve played here numerous times now, and unfortunately the greens are in pretty bad shape. The fairways seemed decent and the tee boxes were fine, but the putting surface was very bumpy with large patches of grass and valleys of sand on the majority of holes. I still enjoy the openness of the course, but it has seen better days
Good course for the money
The greens have been repaired and are patchy in some spots with some bare spots, fairways are well kept with some rough spots. We played on Friday so the pace of play was slow. On some days this course allows groups of five which makes it slower.
Greens are in bad shape
This has been one of my favorite courses over the years. I haven’t played it in about eight months or so. The Green conditions yesterday were terrible. The course also offered no beverages with the restaurant being closed. Bring something to drink because that’s all you will have. Hopefully they can bring the greens back to life.
Cool layout and fun!
Really everything about this course is great besides the greens, which are fine.
That being said, it looks like they are working on them and I’m excited to see them get better. Everyone is really nice here too!
10/10 ❤️
Avoid
Avoid this course unless you just want to use driving range. The driving range was the best part of the course. Greens were not taken care of with sand pits in the greens. Pace of play was not good especially because of being behind a group deciding to walk the course who would not allow my group playing at a faster pace to play through.(I don’t have a problem if you choose to walk but please allow faster groups to play through). Also upon checking in at pro shop we were not informed that we would be unable to have refreshments or food for the day as the clubhouse was not open and we were not allowed to have outside food or drinks on the course. For a $55 round with terrible conditions of the course, bad pace or play, and not having the ability to have refreshments it is not worth it.
