This course needs some attention

Cart lady came by like 7 times today but the sand pits were full of weeds grass and other stuff, the fairways were full of dirt and many many dandelions, and the greens were shot. Might honestly been the worst-kept place I’ve ever played. Maybe late in the season they may be better. was only $40 and got to hang with the kiddo so it was all good

Don’t waste your time or money

If you’ve ever wanted to pay $76 to play golf in a post-apocalyptic pasture, Antler Creek is your dream come true. Tucked away in beautiful Peyton, Colorado—where elevation is apparently code for “we stopped trying”—this course offers the full experience: dead grass, crusty dirt, and bunkers that double as rock gardens.

Let’s talk course conditions. The fairways are patchy mosaics of dead turf and weeds, and the greens? Oh, you mean the goose poop gardens. They were so littered with droppings it felt more like playing through a bird sanctuary than a golf course. As a bonus, the geese will glare at you like you’re trespassing on their tee time. Which, honestly, you probably are—since there’s no starter, no check-in, and tee times seem to be more of a suggestion than anything official.

The bunkers are a joke—if you’ve ever hit out of a sandbox full of weeds and concrete, then congratulations, you’ve been here before. The layout is confusing, with entire parts of the course roped off randomly like they’re under quarantine. The only thing more useless than the layout were the marshals, who zipped around the course like bored mall cops, overseeing the slowest pace of play imaginable without actually doing anything about it.

And when we asked the pro shop staff why the course looked like it hadn’t seen water or effort in a decade, their answer was, “It’s because of the elevation.” Ah yes, the classic “blame the altitude” defense—because apparently gravity pulls grass quality downhill here.

There are other courses in the area, at the same elevation, for less money, that actually have grass and functioning staff. I live nearby and I’d still rather drive an hour than ever come back. If they offered a free round with a cart, lunch, and a foot massage from Rory McIlroy, I’d still politely decline.

If you’re feeling nostalgic for that abandoned lot behind your old high school, but wish it had more goose feces and disappointment—Antler Creek is calling.

Happy to be golfing!

The course conditions seem get worse every year.

Thankfully, the course was not crowded, My buddy and I were able to go out by ourselves. Finished in 3.5 hours. Weather was nice and only paid $40 for 18 holes with a cart.

If it was a 5+ hour round and higher green fees it would have been a bad day.

Needs work

All sand traps, the tee boxes and the greens ... All need some TLC.

I'm not entirely upset - since I only paid $40 for 18 w/cart. But, I wouldn't go back for the same price ... I certainly wouldn't be happy paying retail rate to play with the conditions the course is currently in.

If I go again later this year, and it's not better - I will likely give up on this place and just go to Patty Jewitt, Pine Creek, or Cheyenne Shadows.

The course was in very bad condition

All of the course was in very bad condition. There were weeds growing everywhere including the tee boxes and bunkers. There were a lot of bare patches. The greens had bare patches and were very uneven. I don't think we will play here again.

Course condition

Fairways looked like bunkers they were horrible including the greens. The bunkers are full of grass and weeds. This course is not worth $60 a round $20 at most.

Antler creek

Course staff were very friendly as well as the pace of play was excellent very enjoyable round, the course it self does need some work lots of dead spots bunkers need re finished and raked, the greens on the back nine were in better condition but still lots of dead spots it’s very hard for them to roll true to the line, if the course could get into better shape it’d be worth the cost of their normal rate of 72$ with a cart but I’d say it’s worth around the hot deal that golf now offers up of 48-56$.

Pace of play

This place was terrible! Not sure they can call it a golf course? It took over 4 hours to play 15 holes and just left. Let too many players go at one time!

Embarrasing

The owners and staff should be embarrassed and ashamed of what's happened to this course. This is bad. Like really bad. No grass anywhere on the course other than the weeds in the bunkers. This is pathetic and I feel totally ripped off for having to play this.

Don’t waste your money

This course is in absolute dog$#!+ condition. I’ve played some courses, especially in early season, that haven’t been great but this was especially horrendous. Echoing the most recent reviews, the course layout and views are fantastic and have great potential. The ownership group should be ashamed of its state.

If you like playing where your fairways have more sand than the bunkers and bunkers have more grass than the greens, this may be the location for you. Otherwise, don’t waste your money.

Late Fall Conditions

Course played well but I was told all bunkers were to played as ground under repair since they were going to replace them with grass. Made play a little easier but still fun.
