Mystic Dunes Golf Club

This course recently underwent lot's of repairs that need time to mature before this course is ready for an enjoyable round. I played this course a few years back when it was in much better condition. Therefore I was excited to play again, but very disappointed from the start. The starter made us aware of areas we needed to be mindful on the course. Bottom line is a golf course under repair should not demand normal fees. I would strongly suggest they discount the fees until the course warrants the stated rates.

Hilton purchased this property and are in the process of fixing it. They are very close to completing the renovations.

Good layout and fairways are good. Greens are very slow and once the greens are rolled this is going to be a great golf course.

Felt the price was still a little high at this time. But I will play again.

I have played this course many times over the last 10 years. Last October the course started looking good and playing better through season. Staff did a great job working with what they had before the renovation. So here we are not after a full course renovation, golf course is worse then it was before the renovation. Well let me say some of it is. Greens are a little better. Slower then slow If it is tifeagle it should be mowed down and much smoother. Fairways are thin. Some better then others 15/16 have a good stand of grass but lots are thin and have a hard time not hitting off dirt. There is a lot of sod work going on throughout the course. Maybe you shouldn’t have opened so soon and your reviews would be better. I heard they got rid of the superintendent that was doing the grow in, after speaking with him multiple times while out there playing, my guess is this is why the course is not up to par or even close to Hilton standards. I am a 6 handicap, I play golf 2-3 times a week. I have played everywhere from pebble beach to the city course. My reviews are real. If the reviews are subpar it is because it’s the truth not because I had a bad round.

been playing this course for 15 years been a rough ride at times but new G.M. and new superintendent have the best layout in town on its way back still working out the rough spots but too much fun not to play,helpful tip better think before you putt!

They have spruced up the course quite a bit. But they might have opened too early. All the sodded areas are very bumpy. I believe all the improvements were maintenance that should have been done during normal operation years. It's pretty much the same course, just a little pricey.

Played here many times. The conditions have improved a lot. Greens are very slow. Not worth $80. $45.00 is acceptable. They are working on it though.

we had not been to Mystic Dunes for a number of years, they are carrying out big changes and the greens have had a lot of work.

Had an enjoyable time playing this newly renovated course. Once the renovations mature this course will be even more enjoyable and challenging.

Played the course- opened way too soon after the revamp- greens are way too slow - whole sections of fairway not meshed in. It will take at least 6 months before they should be charging $90

I played Mystic in May of 2019, was aware that during and through covid the course was in rough shape. About a year ago I drove on the highway behind what is now #12 and saw the state, was really looking bad. I swore off trying it until I heard if the Hilton rebrand and renovations that were happening. Kudos to the team trying to bring this gem back, layout is phenomenal, and what they have done so far is clear evidence that there will be future success. This course will test your shot making ability, and the greens can easily end up in 3-4 putts, extreme challenge. Do support this place, I recommend giving it another try.

I played Mystic Dunes yesterday, and it was nice to see the improvements. The new grass on the tees, fairways and greens is coming in nicely for the most part, a few spots need a little bit of time to mature. but otherwise a lot of nice work has been done. It’s nice to see Mystic Dunes back! Will definitely be back.

I don’t normally post reviews but I feel I have to warn people about Mystic Dunes. I have played golf for over 40 years and consider myself a decent standard golfer. I’ve played golf all over the world and have played over 30 courses in the Kissimme/OrlandoI area. I decided to play Mystic Dunes and paid $89 to Golf Now to play this course. At that price I expected a really good standard of course however when I arrived to play it was anything but good. I would go as far to say it’s the worse condition golf course I have ever played. On arrival I was informed that the course had just reopened after extensive renovations and that work was still ongoing. On teeing off the tees were uneven and covered in bare patches. The greens were new and had beed sanded however the fringes around the greens were either bare or had been newly laid and not bedded in with large gaps between the patchwork of turf. The fairways were patchy and the bunkers were badly maintained and in need of new sand. I endured the first 5 holes having to give myself a preferred lie on almost every shot before giving up. I went back to the pro shop for a refund and as I had booked on Golf Now they said I had to contact them and wouldn’t give me a refund. I have since emailed Golf Now however they have not been in touch with me regarding any refund or to resolve this. In my opinion this course should not have been opened in its current condition and certainly shouldn’t be charging almost $90 to play. I would not recommend this course to anyone in its current state. There are far better courses in the area for less money.

New sprigging of greens, fairways and tee boxes, and lots of cleanup of overgrown trees that obstructed views while also limited airflow. Fairways coming together but require more growth, fourth hole CPO. Greens 100% better but a bit slow. Material course improvements, same great staff (Pedro) and renovated pro shop, restaurant and clubhouse.

Tee boxes are good, still growing in.

Fairways are about 90 percent. Recent rain and cooler temps will have them great in a couple of weeks.

If you played this course before, come and check the improvements now.

They have burnt the fairways and greens course was the worst I have ever seen

The course was starting a 3 month renovation the day after I played. All the fairway and green grass had been deliberately killed to enable the renovation process, therefore the course should not have been open. A waste of time and money.

The course should not hsve been open at all. The grass on the fairways and greens was already dead as the course is to be completely redeveloped and as I understsnd it has now been closed until September. I sjould have been warned in advance when I booked hat it was most unsuitable but was not. I was extremely disappointef with what used to be am excellemt course and one day later this year may be again.
