Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
Water Gap Country Club has a dramatically hilly terrain that provides a unique and challenging round of golf. Since opening in the 1920s, the course has played host to a number of major tournaments. The links-style layout features lightning fast, undulating greens and seemingly receptive fairways that are fiercely guarded by mature trees. The elevation changes throughout the golf course guarantee that a flat lie will be hard to find and golfers will have to face several tricky blind shots. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Water Gap is formidable test of your shot-making skills to say the least, but there are some birdie opportunities available. The signature hole is the par-3 fourth, which plays from an elevated tee to an elevated green.

beautiful views
course has beautiful views but very challenging. never a flat lie but maintained well.
Good bang for your buck
This is one of the most interesting courses I have ever played. The course isn't maintained the best, but it is certainly a fun course to play.. The only drawback I have is that the tee boxes and bunkers are in poor condition at best.. It may not be the best course in the world, but it certainly is an interesting one to play.
nice course in good cond.
played at one on sat. and the pace of play was very good did not care for a few holes teeing areas had no direction as to were to go complete blind shot up and over hills a few signs with directions would be helpful on those holes played with two others that had never played there before so it was just hit and hope
Great value and well maintained!
Played Weds 8/14. Overall the course was in very good shape. Greens were medium to fast. Staff was helpful and friendly. Price through Golf Now was outstanding. Will be playing again on Friday.
Not really country club quality
This course is tight off the tee with multiple completely blind tee shots. The greens were nice, and rolled well but the fairways were a little long and some of the tee boxes required some attention. For less than $20 a person it wasn't a bad deal, but I won't exactly be rushing back to play again.
challanging tee shots set up approach
Liked the course, the greens were quick and in good condition. The tee boxes were slightly overgrown as a result of new work being done. The course improvements are a pleasant improvement.
Course conditions were awlful
Not one of my favorite designs. Numerous side hill lies, uphill, and downhill lies. The tee boxes were predominantly dirt with very little grass. Fairways were not in good condition , and greens were in average shape. This course needs to be closed for complete renovation .
Although this is a relatively short course, it can play quite difficult as there is alot of ups and downs.
I played the front nine at forty-two. However the back nine ate me up. There is a couple of blind holes and a par three straight down the hill that play what seems to be over two hundred yards. There is also a couple of blind shots into greens. All and all I felt it was a very challenging course and would like to play it again just to see if I could conquer the back nine.
VERY GOOD COURSE FOR THE COST!
WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHER GOLFERS TOUGHER THAN IT LOOKS!
