If not for the greens...
Have always enjoyed this course and those that work here. Great fun, open layout, but the greens are still too shaggy. Love the new cart path, but...the greens
What happened here?
It’s been many years since I’ve played at Orgill. It used to be one of my favorite courses in the Memphis area, but I was extremely disappointed today. The tee boxes were so hard and dry you could not even get a tee in the ground. The greens had dead spots, sand spots, weeds, and were also hard and extremely dry. The fairways had deep piles of dead, mowed grass. The snack bar had “no hot food” - just candy bars and crackers. The cart paths looked recently paved which was nice, but I don’t go golfing for the cart paths. Why are they not taking care of the course?? I am disappointed.
Great staff and fun course
Excellent Staff esp Terri makes you feel like royalty. Recently repaved cart paths are top notch.
Good value
Some of the greens had some really bad spots. Fairways were good
Rough
Greens really pretty bad considering local competition. Not sure what's up, just not waking up yet from winter. Rough was a ball black how...fairways were surrounded by 6-9 inches of thick clover...found balls, just not mine.
Excellent course for the price I’ve paid way more for way worse couses
37 bucks with a cart included is an awesome value for this course. Very well maintained. Greens were receptive but deceptively fast. I’d say low medium difficulty. Great for the weekend warrior or a seasoned golfer. Clubhouse employees and course staff are incredibly friendly. Pretty good selection of food and beverages but they do not serve alcohol. However they allow byob. The food and prices are really good. The course near my house just closed. This is 15 minutes away and just might become my new home course. Last but not least these ware some of the best maintained electric carts in the city. They don’t have the fancy gps or Bluetooth but they ride incredibly smooth.
Enjoyable course in a beautiful setting.
Orgill is a beautiful course. It was challenging for me but I am a novice golfer. Due to elevated greens do I was short of the greens a lot.
Good little course
Wasn't expecting much. With the drought and high cost of watering I expected course to be in poor shape. Was pleasantly surprised. A few greens had some dead spots but they were at edges and only a few greens. Overall very happy I went and will be going back
Greens not quite playable
Apparently they can't cut greens short just yet. Too slow and bumpy to be a satisfying round unfortunately. The staff is great.
Millington Gem
This course has the ability to be a really great course, and the current staff are working to make it that way. I just hope the City of Millington doesn't limit funding like Shelby County did when they managed it. Course is challenging for all skill levels, but not too hard that it makes a newbie want to quit. Keep up the great work and improvements.
Good playing
Good course nothing fancy but nice to play and the people inside are very nice
