Orgill Golf is a great value.
I have probably played Orgill more than any other golf course because it's a good value and a fun round.
Always enjoyable
My 3rd or 4th time at this course and I'll be back. At almost age 82, I don't have the distance I once had. I can't get to many of the par 4's due to their length. However, the par 5's are reachable. I teamed up with a 3-some on hole #$ and we completed 18 in about 3 hours. We played from the forward men's tees (blacks), most of which were in temporary positions, and most were not a level teebox. Despite not a lot of recent rain, overall the course was in pretty good shape.
Greens better, but still a bit slower than competition
Love the people here, and we were a twosome that was invited to play through as soon as we caught them. Can't go wrong here, and can't hardly loose a ball unless you wide right it into the water!
Orgill
Love Orgill. The greens were sanded and will be great soon
Enjoyed God’s creation!
Course..greens were not quite up too par..very good layout!
Lady at the desk
She is terrible, rude and off putting. The course is reflective of her overall personality….needs a total overhaul.
Love it but needs work
I love Orgill. It’s one of my favorite places to play. If they are a couple of things that desperately need attention. First please build some tee boxes. It makes a huge difference being able to stand level and hit a ball it’s not sitting above or below your feet out of a tee box. It’s not hard to do. Get some railroad ties and make it right. Next PLEASE fix the greens!! I missed a half dozen putts because of a rough surface and the ball bouncing off line and all around. Do that and it will be a great course!
Work on those greens
I like Orgil. Nice course to play. Gotta work on the greens. The worst recently I have ever seen at Orgil.
Good cheap course
The course was a good value for the money, but needed work. It’s the start of the season the grass is cut but the greens need improvement.
Surprised
Considering the wetness of the area after all the rain we've had, I was surprised how dry the course was. I played from the forward tees which shortened the course a lot. I suspect that they are not that much forward normally. Lots of debris on all the fairways and the greens were not in the greatest of condition. But, it's early in the year and I'm sure it will improve. I'll be back.
If not for the greens...
Have always enjoyed this course and those that work here. Great fun, open layout, but the greens are still too shaggy. Love the new cart path, but...the greens
What happened here?
It’s been many years since I’ve played at Orgill. It used to be one of my favorite courses in the Memphis area, but I was extremely disappointed today. The tee boxes were so hard and dry you could not even get a tee in the ground. The greens had dead spots, sand spots, weeds, and were also hard and extremely dry. The fairways had deep piles of dead, mowed grass. The snack bar had “no hot food” - just candy bars and crackers. The cart paths looked recently paved which was nice, but I don’t go golfing for the cart paths. Why are they not taking care of the course?? I am disappointed.
Great staff and fun course
Excellent Staff esp Terri makes you feel like royalty. Recently repaved cart paths are top notch.
