Not a Pro Course
This course had the set up of a PGA Tour course. If you did not land in the fairway ,you probably lost your ball. I know there is a rough but the first cut of rough, even though this only had 1 cut, was 5-6" deep. Also, extremely large amounts of crabgrass.
Pleasant surprise
I haven't heard much - good or bad - about Indian Hills. And, it's been hot and dry here in the Boro. So, I was pleasantly surprised with both the quality of the conditions and the layout of the course itself. Generally wood fairways seem forgiving. The rough and hills quickly disabuse you of any notion that this fairly short 18 hole course will be easy.
The cat cart has built in GPS, which definitely aids in club selection. The only negative from our round was pace of play. Through hole 5, we were on a 6 hour pace. After that things picked up and we finished in about 4.5 hours.
Great public course. Value is unmatched in the area. I definitely recommend Indian Hills.
Fairways/greens
Fairways are significantly better considering the hot weather lately. Greens have been recently sanded but will be perfect soon.
Greens are trash bare spots and sand def not a $50 course
Greens are horrible on this course hopefully they can turn them around doesn’t look like they have been watering in months
Hot day for golf!
Overall course is in really good shape. Just a couple of spots on greens that were bare. Glad they moved the green on #4 back.
Course needs changes
Reluctantly gave Indian Hills another chance and again was very disappointed. The pace of play was a little under 6 hours! The fairways were like concrete with balls bouncing as if they hit a cart path. Grass was growing in the middle of several sand traps. Pure lazy grounds keeping and lack of give a crap by management. The pro shop staff was short and snappy w/ personality similar to the sand traps. The highlights were the fact that they have a chipping green, the nice ladies in the dinning area, and convenience. I may play here again, but it will only be if I lose a bet. With several other courses around the area, I’ll take my $40-50 elsewhere. Pure hot garbage and it’s a shame.
It Ain’t the Ball
Love to get out on the course. Sometimes I can claim to be a golfer, other times not so much.
It ain’t the ball, it a’in’t the shoes, It ain’t the clubs - so it must be me. Have been tryin’ for 60+ years to get below 80 -apparently it’s not in the cards.
Very fair priced for a great course good pace of play as well.
Good course
Definitely challenging not a good course for newer players mainly due to it being next to a busy street and houses line the fairway but definitely a good course and a good challenge for anyone looking for one would definitely play here again
