Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

good course bad condition
felt the course had a good and challeging layout but have you heard of the term cow pasture. needs a serious overhaul. greens were horrible and course overgrown and unkept. not to much fun to play.
Playing here for years
The renovations are mostly complete. I find that the greens are consistent but still a little bumpy. The course takes forever to drain from heavy rains. Although they have installed drains on most of the bunkers, it still will most likely be the last course in the area to be cart path only. Bring your A game or extra balls as there is water or back yards on almost every hole. The course does have some fun holes and free driving range. I can usually find a discounted tee time online that makes it a good value. I'm a 98 handicap.
Belle Terre
I hadn't played this course since before the storm. It was a very nice course back then. The clubhouse is under renovation, so no bar or place to get a bite. We played on a Sunday and there was no beer cart on the course. They have just dreged the ponds and there are mounds of dredged material stacked up every where. The greens are very hard, so much so that it is very difficult to hold them. For some reason the apron of the greens were soaking wet, which made it difficult to land your shots and bounce up to the greens. The greens are very fast and relatively true. There was no over seeding of rye. The whole course is just dormant grass. Not very pretty to the eye. The tee boxes were also so hard that it was difficult to get a tee into them. Overall the course needs a lot more work done. The layout is still very challenging with lots of water and sand, but I would wait a while before playing again.
On-going Construction
Belle Terre is usually an exciting and challenging course to play. However, it is experiencing a lot of renovation, which, I'm sure is for the betterment of the course, but while not aesthetically pleasing, even sometimes hampers ones view of the target. Overall, from my many past experiences, Belle Terre is a fine course and good value.
louis banderet
like to play this course with 3 buddies who all like it
a must play
Course was in pretty good shape greens are Fast and smooth course had got a lot of rain but still was nice. For the money easily worth it
Great Course
Played here several years ago, and remembered it was 'nice'. They must have improved since, because the course was in great shape! Yes, I my was wet for recent rains, but the fairway, bunkers and greens were obviously well taken care of. Can't wait to play here again.
Great greens
Course was in the best shape that I've ever seen it. The greens are great and receptive. Very challenging course.
solo golfer
Great scenery. Greens have been great all year.
Very good value on Wednesday at 20 bucks plus range balls.
Great Golf Course and smooth fairways, good grass.
When i leave the course i feel great. I enjoyed the views and the course is well kept. Some golf courses are bumpy and the golf carts are uncomfortable. You can tell they are making improvements and have made many improvements in the recent past. Very nice greens, great fairways, lots of new sand in bunkers. If you can play there from $25-$35 you are getting a great deal.
fairly nice
Great value at $25 on a Sunday at noon. Course was in decent shape with a few holes being worked on. The last few holes could use some beautification. Nice experience overall. Felt like my own private course for a Sunday. Pace of play was swift due to lack of golfers. Will play here again. A little challenging at times. Fun course.
Cool evening of golf!
First time on the course and met up with an old timer who was a very random partner. 1st 9 played a little slow but the back 9 was quick and easy. I enjoyed the course and thought the layout was good. Good mix of sand and water on quite a few holes. Looking forward to my next trip back. 22Hcp
Great for an afternoon round
Course was in above average condition. Greens have subtle movement and were in very good shape. Nice bunkers and water comes into play on several holes, but not extreme. Staff very friendly. Looks like regulars play in the mornings so your best bet for a good paced round is in the afternoon.
Nice course
The course is in good condition and i recognize that they are spending to improve it further. Greens are in good shape and consistent. Lovely layout (Pete Dye design). Challenging without being intimidating. Staff is always friendly and helpful. As long as I can keep getting good deals on 18 holes I will continue to patronize Belle Terre Golf Club.
Great course Outside New Orleans
Second time playing here, and I will definitely be a repeat customer. The staff has been nice to me, and the facilities/course are in excellent shape.
nice course
Beautiful course
Very well kept up
Greens were in great shape
worth the trip
My first time here, excellent for the money. I played as a single and played the first nine with a very friendly member who played only nine, he made it quite pleasant. we played from the white tees. On the back nine I was kindly invited to join a twosome and played the back tees, a little harder for me but still very good. The conditions are fair and the greens are good. the beverage cart came by twice during the round. overall I had a great day and look forward to return.
Belle Terre CC
Belle Terre CC is a hidden gem located in a wonderful little town. As soon as I parked my car I could tell this was going to be a great experience. As soon as I walked into the golf shop, I was greeted with friendly, smiling faces who were willing to help me with whatever I needed. They mentioned that they were able to tee me off earlier if I wanted to do so. The head golf professional, Mr. Baker, is one of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a golf course. He showed me around the club house and answered any question that I had as well. The golf course has had some overhaul also recently. You can see how great the greens are as they were recently upgraded, along with the green side bunkers which looked really good! Overall, I had a wonderful time at Belle Terre and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to play golf at a great course in the N.O. metro area.
Good test of skill
This course has been in good condition 4/4 times I've played it. Good test of driving with several risk/reward par 4s. Water in play on 12--14 holes. It'll test a good player, but it's playable for a novice.
Very scenic layout with challenging but fair holes
I have not played Belle Terre in a few years and I have to say I was very skeptical after knowing the course went threw some issues just a short time ago. With that said, I was very pleased with the overall condition of the course. I will be back to play again and I would recommend it.
