Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

Greens
The course has a great layout but they are going thru some construction at the moment. Once that is done and they get a few of the greens back into good shape it will be a excellent course. Stan in the club house is top notch and always ready to help. Driving range is in good shape.
They have lost the greens
The front nine was closed because of the conditions of thier greens, so we had to play the back nine twice. If the condition of the greens on the back nine were any indication, it will be MONTHS before the course is playable. The greens were terrible. I won't be back anytime soon
Course condition is terrible. TT
This course was the one of my favorite but I'm not going there for a while. Greens were terrible, too.
This course has great features
This is an extremely nice course, only thing is that they are undergoing construction at the moment and some of the tee boxes are a little sketchy, also some of the greens are being airrated and not best as of yet. I assume when they are finished with it all that place will be in supurb shape. I can't wait !!!!! Event with all that, it's still a nice place to play a great round of golf !!!!
Competitive friendly course
I have played this course many times and have always been pleased.
On today's round, i expected more of a challenge due to days of rain (usually drains well) and management' investing in continuously improving the course; hence, some construction on a couple of holes. Yet there was still lots of good golf to be had. Fairways cut well with manageable rough. Approaches and greens well maintained; greens were dry and in excellent shape in spite of previous weather. Putts rolled true.
Any other time I would be giving an EXCELLENT rating.
As always, the staff is great and helpful.
The clubhouse has been renovated; food and service are good.
While out on the course the cart girl was there often with great cold drinks and power snacks.
This is easily the best course in the area and worth the short drive i make once or twice a week from New Orleans.
Recommend you check it out for yourself as you will enjoy the experience. Tell George or Stan that Hal highly recommended you for a great golf outing.
The Webb of Laplace
This course sucks the condition is pitiful. Had a foursome of old geysers that would not let us play through the whole front nine. Will not be playing here again.
to bad only very late tee time are all that are available. it was very hot an humid. the course played great!!
Great Track
Excellent layout, greens slow but all 18 holes consistent. Will definitely return spectacular value $$$
Out of the Way Course
Belle Terre touts itself as a Pete Dye design. If you've ever played a Dye course, you might find this one to be a bit different from the others you've played. Like so many other South Louisiana courses, Belle Terre is downright swampy, and it might be worth noting that as you approach a water hazard on this course, you might want to look 2 or 3 times for alligators and snakes. I have seen both out there.
This course is located in Laplace, Louisiana, about 35-40 minutes west of downtown New Orleans on I-10. It's definitely out of the way, and as such is more a locals course than a tourist destination.
It's two nines both emanate from right in front of the clubhouse and make outward turning loops through neighborhoods. The course isn't long, topping out at 6849 yards. The breeze off Lakes Maurepas and Pontchartrain can be daunting on the northern facing holes.
The signature holes on the course are the 183 yard par 3 5th hole, which seems to simply be an oasis in the marsh, and the 448 yard par 4 17th, which features a bit of everything - water in the forms of ponds and a canal running across the fairway, as well as tough bunkering.
It's a bit outside of the easy access of the city so it's not likely on many people's radar. And while it was recently renovated (green complexes upgraded for better roll and drainage) it remains just maybe a slight notch above an average course - rough edges, housing, not much for beauty. But a good play nonetheless!
Friendly golf club
Had a good time playing the course, course management a must .The course is in fair condition and some of the greens are a bit rough looking, but it appears that they are working to improve that. Must say ,the staff are super friendly and you leave feeling you wouldn't mind going back there.
Belle Terre Golf Course
Really enjoyed myself. Not a bad course at all. Friendly, professional staff. Look forward to playing again!
Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice review. We appreciate your kind words and look forward to seeing you again.
Lovely
Although the driving range is small, I'm not used to hitting on such a well manicured surface. The grass was perfect and it was an awesome warmup.
The course had a nice layout, was in pretty good condition, and the sand traps were in perfect condition. Other than a group ahead of us taking FOREVER, it was a great day.
Hi
We appreciate you writing us a review. It's great to hear you enjoyed your day at our course and we hope you visit us again soon!
good value
nice layout in a neighbor hood but the homes are not a problem some water hazards sand traps are well placed the score card has the hazards laid out and they were very helpful nice driving range and practice green some greens do need attention fairways were in great shape roughs were not to tall making finding you ball easy but not so short as to make it easy to hit out of cart paths have some bad spots but were ok enough trees to make shot placement important will play there again
Excellent value.
This course is worth almost any price. After the amount of rain and summer heat it is great shape. Saw many grounds keepers doing positive things. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. I think I remember Pete Dye designed it?
Had a great round
The course if is in great shape. One green had some sand covering it but other than that it was excellent!
This course has great greens
I have played this course approximately 12 times every time is a pleasure the course is well-maintained has plenty of water available for hot days beautiful landscaping very nice placement of sand traps and water hazards and the occasional alligator crossing the fairway
Mystic Creek Experience Stay & Play Package
Amazing course. You can tell the maintenance crew really puts some serious effort into maintaining the course. Every time I play I see them out there doing something to improve the holes.
They stop what they’re doing as soon as they see a golfer. A couple of them have even helped me find my ball after blasting it off the fairway.
Staff 10/10
Course 8/10
Facilities 8/10
Keep up the improvements, we’re all noticing!
