Kino Springs Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2021.
Surrounded by acres of gently rolling hills studded with native mesquite and oak trees, Kino Springs Golf Course has a stunning location along the Santa Cruz River. Savvy birdwatchers know that it's a major flyway where you can see flycatchers, orioles, kingfishers, and grey hawks. The course is part of the historic Estancia Yerba Buena Ranch, which has hosted an impressive guest list over the years that includes John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor. The golf course is player friendly enough for beginners but it has enough risk-reward opportunities to appeal to low handicappers. The opening holes play across open meadows but by the fifth hole you'll find yourself in canyon country. Mature pine trees frame Kino Springs Golf Course's last five holes but the views from the elevated tees stretch past the treetops to the scenic river.

Awesome!
Great course! Greens were in great shape, fairways very good as well! Perfect time of year, 80 degree days and cool nights! Keith the Head Pro was fantastic and welcomed us and really made us feel at home.
This course has an excellent canyon adventure starting on hole 5 thru 13. Scoring holes need to be done on first 4 and last 5, otherwise forget making bogey. We played two days in a row, 2nd score was an 82, first was a 90. Stay in the fairway! Hit short of the green and bounce it on..good luck! Will play again during the monsoon! :) This is the course to play if in Southern AZ.
Great weather!
Golfed with a group of 9 friends. We had a wonderful experience!
Kino Springs
It was different from other courses that we had play. It was beautiful but somewhat of a drive.
marshall
We were approached by the marshall on the course asking us to pick up the pace which we told him we would and thank him.He in turn followed us on our heels for over 5 holes .This botherd us and thus started to ruin the day for us.I approached the marshall and told him to get off our backs and leave us alone. After that we enjoyed the rest of the day .We asked the foursome behind and they told us we were not holding them up.I have been a marshall myself and there are ways to have people pick up the pace without harrassing them. The people in the pro shop were great the couse is in good shape overall we had a good day. Thank you
In Great Shape
best golf for your money.. course in great shape. best I have seen it ...
Challenging and fun to play
We were impressed with the overall condition of the course. They have some unique holes that not only offer a challenge, but are fun to play. Price was right. Treated very well by all staff. Will be back again soon.
Great fun and excellent greens
The nine mountain holes challenge any golfer and the bent grass greens are always in excellent condition. One of my favorite courses in southern Arizona.
A great venue to play!
Course is being maintained in great shape. Greens are running with good speed and holding shots. Fairways are maintained very well and bunkers have shown improvement with added sand. Well worth playing and enjoying the view from the middle ten holes.
Still no restaurant/bar open for 19th Hole sessions.
Fun Golf
Beautiful scenery, fun course in great shape, well kept green fairways , greens in good condition.Fun to play !
good course,fun to play
the greens were excellent, fairways good. we were first off played in 2 and half hours
Tough but fair
Always enjoy playing the course and the staff are accommodating for special needs
Fun Course
Half the holes are rather straight forward. Half the holes are uniquely original. The greens are very nice but there are many subtle breaks. A few of the holes are tricky and it would help if golfers new to the course played with someone who has been there before. The scenery in the ravine area is terrific. The staff is very welcoming.
Good Course, Good Value
This was the first time I played here and I was favorably impressed with the fairways and greens. The staff was friendly and the views on the 8th through the 13th holes were the best in southern Arizona! I plan on returning to play here.
Great
Lush and green. Nine holes of old style and nine holes of hilly desert. The greens are fast and true.
Course is great for the money
Great course layout----challenging but still worthy of play by all talents. Time of play was great--31/2 hrs. plus people on course were polite and let us (2) play thru. Course is in fairly good shape considering weather for Jan. and Feb. has been dry. Will be glad to recommend course to friends---value for the money is very good.
Well Worth It
Kino Springs is a lightly played gem. Fairways are in excellent shape and desert rough makes you pay the price of an errant shot. Greens can make you go bald if not already there. Traps can use a little help. Was able to put out of 2 of them. The staff deserves 6 stars not 5. Not don't go telling everyone or it will lose the appeal of not being crowded.
Gem in the Desert
Best greens s of Tucson. Putting was very true. Staff very friendly. Two courses in one, flat meadowlands and curving elevated canyon, really neat.
Always a fun track
Kino is a hidden gem-Well worth the drive from Green Valley! Always in good shape- lush fairways, excellent but tricky greens, and friendly staff make for a very pleasant golf experience.
Carts and some cart path areas are a bit rough but it is a country style course.
After hole 5 you head up the mountain.
Our foursome have enjoyed playing this course as it offers numerous types of holes. The mountain holes are beautiful and challenging. Bring extra balls.
The women do not get much advantage on a lot of the tees especially the long hole 1.
Waiting in the desert
Marshall should have moved a group that was 4 holes behind the pace. They made it a five hour round where normally the course plays easily in 4 hours. Greens can be difficult. A good deal overall though.
