Kino Springs Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2021.
Surrounded by acres of gently rolling hills studded with native mesquite and oak trees, Kino Springs Golf Course has a stunning location along the Santa Cruz River. Savvy birdwatchers know that it's a major flyway where you can see flycatchers, orioles, kingfishers, and grey hawks. The course is part of the historic Estancia Yerba Buena Ranch, which has hosted an impressive guest list over the years that includes John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor. The golf course is player friendly enough for beginners but it has enough risk-reward opportunities to appeal to low handicappers. The opening holes play across open meadows but by the fifth hole you'll find yourself in canyon country. Mature pine trees frame Kino Springs Golf Course's last five holes but the views from the elevated tees stretch past the treetops to the scenic river.

Great shape
Kino Springs, close to the Mexican border, was a pleasure to play. The staff were very welcoming, and the course was in great shape (end November 2012). Since there were few other golfers, the pace of play was very relaxed.
Hidden Gem for sure
Good, challenging but yet playable course, Greens were great, beautiful views of the rolling hills with mountain background. Had a great time playing this course. Shot a proud score of 79...second best score I've shot in my golfing career. Hole #6 Par 5 fairway needed a little work but on its way in being corrected. All other holes were just great. Definitely a hidden gem.
Interesting layout with lots of variations
step-son was in town from Seattle. We played 3 different courses and this one was the most enjoyable. He had a great time at Kino.
Very demanding tee shots. The small but perfect greens are great.
You would have to hard and long to find a more relaxed atmosphere to play golf in. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable. The course itself is in very good winter condition. And it will only get better for the next few months. The green fees are very reasonable.
Excellent greens and fairways.
This is the best I've seen the course conditions. The greens are running true and fairways provide great lies for hitting shots. Asked about the restaurant and it may not open until March as ownership/management is changing.
For the price, Kino is well worth playing at any level.
This is a fun course to play.
The first 4 holes are on the flat ground, the next 9 are in the hills and the last 5 are on flat ground, so it makes for an interesting course to play. The course is in excellent shape.
Beautiful setting, quiet course with lots of character.
Well maintained, especially the greens. Beautiful setting in remote, quiet, and wild area. Course has lots of character with many unique golf holes. Great value and easy to get on. This is our (my wife and I) favorite course in SE Arizona, and we are from Tucson.
great layout, good greens.
Great bar and dinning facilities, closed for now, missed the pulled pork sandwiches, hope they open soon. lots of history here, will be back.11
A very diverse course
The greens are fast and in excellent shape. I would rate the fairways a 4 out of 5. The scenery is outstanding.
Pace of play was great
Kino Springs is one of my favorite Southern Arizona courses. The course is always in great shape. I really enjoy the variety of holes. Golfers of all capabilities should enjoy this course. The scenic views are a real plus.

They have done a lot to make this course playable, they have a few problems and they are working to correct them. staff very friendly and accomadating ,I highly recomend this course.
Good course and a good experience
The course has an interesting layout on 9 holes that run back through the hills. The other part of the course is average but the course was in good shape.
