Fun course
Typical mountain course with uneven lies. Greens were fantastic. Some tee boxes could use some love. Bunkers should be raked and fluffed. A few odd holes, #10 par 3 way uphill comes to mind. Directional flags would be a huge boost for first time players as sometimes what looks like a perfect tee shot lands in the rough.
Nice to play again!
Haven't been here in a year or so. Played the blue and red. Both courses in great shape! Friendly pro shop staff and starters!
A Perfect Golf Day
Despite the recent heat wave, the course was in great shape. A wide variety of holes and greens on a rolling course with four different tee options. Combine that with beautiful views of nearby mountains, friendly staff, and outstanding hot dogs and you get a perfect golf day!
Really enjoyed it
This course is a set of 3 9 hole (27 total) courses. When you check in they assign which 2 of the 3 you will be playing. I like the course. It is challenging. Was in great shape for mid summer. The staff was nice. Nice bar and dining area. Not a country club and not a muni. Somewhere in between. Also beautiful country golf.
Really nice!
It is a really nice course, it was busy the day we were there so slow moving but still enjoyable and awesome staff.
Staff were beyond rude
We played there for our final time. We’ve been going to this course for years and the staff have grown increasingly more ace more rude. This was the final straw. The starter was an absolute pr** to not only our group but all others there. While checking in, the staff were very rude and condescending because THEY over booked, which has been an ongoing issue. We are not paying This much money to be treated like that. Won’t be going back unless some major changes are made, there’s plenty of other courses around the area.
Great time
All around good time. I asked a person if I was putting the cart in the correct spot and he told me I was before telling me he could kick me out for outside alcohol. (I don’t drink but was throwing away my water and another white claw can) I understand but may suggest they could sell more by reminding us and offering beverages when checking in is all I may suggest
Decent starter course
Second time back to SVGC, didn't really remember the first time out. The course is well maintained but pretty unremarkable, fair warning the fairways are red clay immediately under the grass so any divet on iron shots don't expect much outside of sore wrists. I will give credit that the course is very very playable even for novice players and there aren't many obstacles to eat up balls. $22.75 pre tip for 3 hot dogs felt on the steep side but they were decent dogs. Staff was very friendly.
All in all, I would call the experience okay, however I wouldn't be looking to go again. Especially knowing there's courses like Sly Fox and Blue Ridge Shadows in a similar price range nearby.
Course is in great shape
This was my first time playing the course this year and the course was in great shape. The weather was perfect, so the course was pretty crowded. But, pace of play was great.
excellent round
This course is a real gem. The greens are in perfect condition and are very true. I played very early and was done in 2 and 1/2 hours without rushing. I am going back again tomorrow for the same experience.
