Overall great place
Love to see the rough a little lower or a little more sparse. Not that you shouldn’t be penalized for being in the rough but on a public course you don’t want a large amount of time spent on people looking for their ball. But to be fair on a Saturday mid morning tee time for around in about 4:20 so not too bad.
Miss the blue course
We played the Old course, which is now red to white. The blue course was always my favorite. The next time I will book The Titus course to see what it's like
I will be going back.
Heavy sanded greens and fairways
Have played Shenandoah many times. After traveling over an hour to get there we discovered that they were in the middle of sanding and punching the greens and fairways. We had not been told about this when making the tee time. Nor was it advertised anywhere in their website. It appears that it was intentionally omitted so no tee times were lost. They got us today but never again
Saturday AM round
Could still tell there was some spring maintenance going on. Greens weren’t under repair, but sanded down. Some of the fairways you can tell the seeding pattern.
Staff was nice, group I was paired up was friendly. There could have been some better organization on putting out equal number of people in groups. Pace was slow
Not in great shape right now
Punched greens without telling us at booking. Fairways wavy with grass growing in. Played here before and it was beautiful. Going to be a bit before it’s good again.
Wonderful Course
Excellent condition especially for this time of year. Greens especially good condition.
Great layout and good value for the money!
The tee boxes, fairways and greens were quite good; the bunkers were only okay and the rough was sketchy. The course was interesting and a fun layout. The pace of play was not good due to the starter not pairing players up - there were several twosomes and threesomes - we paired up with another twosome after a few holes and that helped, but it was a 41/2 hour round. We stopped for a light lunch and it was excellent! We will play here again when in the area.
Lovely course good value for the money
Tee boxes, fairways, greens were quite good. Bunkers were mediocre at best. Food was excellent. Starter caused poor pace of play by not pairing folks up causing 4.5 round. Would be happy to play here again
Ball Hog
Fairways are very narrow and the grass was 6-8" tall off the fairway meaning you could lose your ball off it landed 2ft from the fairway. Perhaps I shoul improve my game to stay in the fairway but for now I won't be coming back any time soon.
Fun course
Course was in great condition other than the sand traps. Great value, great staff, will definitely be back regularlo.
Always pristine.
My go to course. I invite all of my friends here because I know they will appreciate.
Very Slow Play - Poor Course Mgmt
SVGC hosts a LOT of tournaments, which use 2 of the 3 nine-hole courses. Golf Now bookings will play the same 9 hole course twice,. At the turn the starter allowed 3 groups just teeing off to play before our back nine (we waited 24 minutes before continuing our round), Waited on every hole, do not recommend if there is a tournament or league play. Never Shaw a marshall. Fairway & greens were in good shape, staff was friendly. No option to call ahead for food at the turn.
