Happily Surprised.
I am not going to lie, I wasn't expecting much from this course. I had an out of town visitor that I was taking out, and didn't want to spend a lot of money. The greens were in fantastic condition. The course is short, but the greens are small and undulated. So while the course is by no means difficult, it is not too easy either. The only complaint I have, if you can call it that, are there are several blind tee shots, and limited information on the course as to where to aim.. I have golfed a lot of courses in the area, and this was the best value for the price I have found so far. $50 for a Sunday morning tee time is a steal. I will return for a weekend round.
After the thunderstorm
The course was old fashioned hilly layouts. The staff is friendly and custmer oriented. Starting time was moved to regular hour(90 minutes earlier) in flexible manner with thunderstorm forecasting day even if I made twilight teetime (Of course, no charge). Yes, they came, sad. After the thunderstorm, no one could be seen on the course. However, I decided to continue playing because the green was OK without pond.At the fairway, I could not find any river on the surface. In other words, I found very few places to be wet and un-strokabke lie. It should be the result of their great maintenance!! Finally I made 18 holes round with 2.5 hour. It was a great deal!
Windy, over crowded, and slow
The wind was 25 to 30 mph most of the day and contributed to the slow play. The course had a very big tournament going on all three nines and were about 1.5 to 2 hours behind on tee times. There was very little direction from course employees as to when and who was up on any starting hole. Once we got on the course we found great greens, hilly blind shots, and lots of trees. Many landing areas are over a hill and you MUST go up to see if it is clear to hit. The condition of the course was excellent with trees lining most fairways, some quite tight. For the money it was an excellent buy on a well maintained course that we had the bad luck of trying on a very overbooked and windy day. I'd recommend you call ahead to check availability before booking.
The course is usuay kept in good condition.
Excellent course for its age. Tight layout, tree lined fairways. Pace of play is usually good and they have 3 different 9 hole coursee to play. Red and white courses play a little easier than the blue, but their all fun. Not an extremely long course, but you can get in trouble quick with an errant drive. Greens are always in good to great condition.
Excellent conditions both course and weather except for the wind.
We love playing at Shenandoah Valley Golf course. It is always in great conditions. We all had a great day but did not play our best golf, could have been the wind. We played white and red courses.
Shenandoah Valley Golf Club
Good course- maintained
Nice greens fairways good shape
Sand bunkers could use fresh sand
Otherwise a favorite for me in the area
great course
Always a good place to play, staff are friendly. course is always in good condition.
Great place to play
Went in early Oct when we have been weeks without rain. The course was in fantastic shape and all the facilities and equipment are very good. Course design is pretty basic and simple, but worth the drive from NOVA on occasion.
very nice course for the money
always in very good condition great value for the price of green fee overall very satisfying day
A wonderful 27 hole layout , no two holes are alike.
What could be better than friendly people , a beautiful course, and fast pace play. NOTHING! !!!
Fun course
I have played this course a number of times and always i'm challenged and have a good time. I am 65 and just started playing in May of 2012. This is great for exercise.
A beautiful day and great course conditions; however, pace of play was very slow because the course had booked a tournament.

Greens are in great condition!
Great course with 27 holes. I played the White/Blue courses and loved the layout. The course is not long but has some elevation changes and subtle breaks in fairly fast greens. Went as a single but joined some friendly golfers who showed me the ropes. Excellent views of the mountains and the great pace of play made this a keeper. I'll play again!
We love this course, friendliest staff around!
Great course. Well maintained, friendly people, never crowded.
unfriendly
The course staff made our 3some play the same 9 twice and refused a partial refund when we decided that we didnt want to play the same 9 again. with the explanation that we should not have booked on golf now. the manager was rude as well as the pro shop attendant. It almost seemed like we were being discriminated against because we had used the golfnow.com service and weren't wanted.
Greens recently plugged, need a little time to get back in shape.
Played Blue and Red courses, red ok blue has (for Me) to many blind tee shots.
Course had an outing and no one gave a hoot about people outside event. We left and we deserve a refund
We are very disappointed. We along with others there who were not in outing event were discarded and dropped into total disorder. We could not finish our round because an outing came out and invaded the course in total disregard to the gofers who were out there. We request a refund.
This course is consistently well-maintained, fun to play while still challenging. I would recommend this course to any golfer.
Shenandoah is in a truly picturesque location with mountains and rolling hills from all sides. The course is not overly long and is a great challenge for the weekend player. It is not overly hilly and has no blind shots. It's a 27 hole golfing facility so there is ample variety throughout the entire course. The staff is very helpful without being obtrusive. Food service in the grill room features a wide variety of lunch selections which have proven to be consistent and tasty over time. The course is well-maintained with greens that run medium fast to faster. The ball marks are kept under control and getting better. This is a fun course to play whether as a single or a foursome either on foot or in a cart and provides good value for the money.
Nice Course
Short course, but in great condition. Secluded, inexpensive, and not crowded. I'd go back.
