very nice course for the money
always in very good condition great value for the price of green fee overall very satisfying day
A wonderful 27 hole layout , no two holes are alike.
What could be better than friendly people , a beautiful course, and fast pace play. NOTHING! !!!
Fun course
I have played this course a number of times and always i'm challenged and have a good time. I am 65 and just started playing in May of 2012. This is great for exercise.
A beautiful day and great course conditions; however, pace of play was very slow because the course had booked a tournament.

Greens are in great condition!
Great course with 27 holes. I played the White/Blue courses and loved the layout. The course is not long but has some elevation changes and subtle breaks in fairly fast greens. Went as a single but joined some friendly golfers who showed me the ropes. Excellent views of the mountains and the great pace of play made this a keeper. I'll play again!
We love this course, friendliest staff around!
Great course. Well maintained, friendly people, never crowded.
unfriendly
The course staff made our 3some play the same 9 twice and refused a partial refund when we decided that we didnt want to play the same 9 again. with the explanation that we should not have booked on golf now. the manager was rude as well as the pro shop attendant. It almost seemed like we were being discriminated against because we had used the golfnow.com service and weren't wanted.
Greens recently plugged, need a little time to get back in shape.
Played Blue and Red courses, red ok blue has (for Me) to many blind tee shots.
Course had an outing and no one gave a hoot about people outside event. We left and we deserve a refund
We are very disappointed. We along with others there who were not in outing event were discarded and dropped into total disorder. We could not finish our round because an outing came out and invaded the course in total disregard to the gofers who were out there. We request a refund.
This course is consistently well-maintained, fun to play while still challenging. I would recommend this course to any golfer.
Shenandoah is in a truly picturesque location with mountains and rolling hills from all sides. The course is not overly long and is a great challenge for the weekend player. It is not overly hilly and has no blind shots. It's a 27 hole golfing facility so there is ample variety throughout the entire course. The staff is very helpful without being obtrusive. Food service in the grill room features a wide variety of lunch selections which have proven to be consistent and tasty over time. The course is well-maintained with greens that run medium fast to faster. The ball marks are kept under control and getting better. This is a fun course to play whether as a single or a foursome either on foot or in a cart and provides good value for the money.
Nice Course
Short course, but in great condition. Secluded, inexpensive, and not crowded. I'd go back.
Great golf on a hilly, visually appealing course!!!
I played White to Blue. The course, from tee box to greens, was in great condition. The rough was not so thick and long that you could not find your ball and make decent contact; however, with any rough, it's probably going to cost you a stroke. The greens were large, fast, very undulating, and very receptive to approach shots. I only found one bunker and it was well maintained allowing for a proper explosion shot to the pin. Overall, I had a great round of golf on a great golf course.
Well maintained.
The older Red and White 9 holes are good but the Blue is better and more challenging.
Old Style - Tree lined Setting
Fairways and Greens in wonderful shape. With three 9s to play can go several times with variety. Some holes tighter than others and trees are tight to fairway. Rough was long and made decisions on coming out more complicated. Tee boxes showing some wear and could use a little work -- more noticed because everything else is green lush and in exceptional shape. Overall great price and worth the drive from across Northern Virginia to enjoy a round at this facility.
New carts just put into service so that was an added bonus
Good Course, Great Value
With "twilight" rates starting at 2pm, this course is great for those looking to not break the bank on a round. The course was in great shape and while it was very hot with a chance of thunderstorms, the course was surprisingly empty when I played, and on my own in a power cart I finished in under 3 hours.
The course has plenty of variation in its layout which is always nice, some drive-able Par 4s and at least one shorter Par 5 that offer satisfying levels of risk/reward. The fairways were nothing special but the greens were smooth if a little soft. The bunkers were also nicely raked and overall the landscape is very satisfying for the money.
Front Royal has a plethora of courses to choose from, this was only my first, but it was a great experience overall!
The course was in excellent condition, had to play behind a foursome because of a tournament so the pace of play was slow
Overall I liked the course, playing it for the first time made the course a little harder than I think it is but it was a great deal and I would return to play it again
Staff are great. Course is in great condition.
Great experience. Great facility. Course is in great shape.
Beautiful course set in the hillsof the Shenandoah Valley.
It's a little hard to spot from the road but once your in the parking lot it's well worth the drive. Beautiful greens and fairways! I loved the course right from the start and I'm thinking you will too. The greens were pretty fast and a real challenge if you find yourself with a downhill putt.
Good course-Good value
